Preferred Qualifications:The VP Operations TDS will provide operational support & leadership for Fixed Income, Money Market, Syndicate New Issuance in Capital Markets and the corresponding clearing operations areas along with other assigned business areas. This individual will ensure that the firms security positions agree to our clearing bankbooks and records on a daily basis. The candidate will also be cross-trained to other positions within the department. Activities include advising agent of ticket control numbers for confirmations and by performing required system maintenance. In addition, the position will maintain compliance files and verify new clients are set up in the system of record, acknowledging that settlement and other client instructions are complete.Depth & Scope:Ensures all securities are settled accurately, on a timely basis, and are properly allocated by overseeing; Fixed Income (US), Money Market, and Correspondence clearing operations areaAssists in all settlement activity within the departmentMaintains professional relationships inside and outside the firm; Trading Desks, Counter-Parties, Clearing Bank and CustomersActs as a specialist owner or representative in the disciplineLeads / participates in the identification, development and implementation of new products, operating workflow, additional services/applications or operational efficiencies for Global Business ServicesIdentifies, documents, investigates and resolves service delivery issuesManages relationships with the client, and other areas of TDS / GBSActs as a project manager for small-scale projects/initiativesInitiates or participates in projects follow project management methodologies, communicate project status and provide timely escalation of issues to senior management to ensure project objectives are metInterfaces with regulators, external groups (legal firms, accountants etc.), suppliers on operating and service delivery issues relative to the specific area of functional expertise as authorized by the managerEscalates non-standard or high risk transactions or other activities as appropriateAcquires and applies expertise in the discipline, provide guidance, assistance and direction to others in TD SecuritiesIdentifies, recommends, and effectively executes standard practices applicable to the disciplineAnalyzes service delivery issues and identifies potential solutions that enhance the customer experience and support TD Securities business objectivesProtects the interests of the firm identifies and manages risks, while continuously evolving the scope of work to be more efficientCompletes business process reviews as required, create synergies & process changes where applicable/deemed necessaryParticipates fully as a member of the team, promotes team effectiveness and contributes to a positive work environmentSupports the team by continuously developing knowledge in own area – help grow the skillset of high performers while motivating those who need to develop in certain areasParticipates in performance management and development activities – provide detailed, accurate & actionable feedback as regularly as possible to address the performance growth and meet the objectives of each direct report, tailored to their skillset & goalsSupports change management activities around projects or initiatives undertaken ensures clear communication of new processesEnsures the timely communication of issues that are relevant to the team and encourage a good working relationship with other departmentsSupports the business with consistent application of BSA/AML risk escalation, review and approval processes, KYC due diligence and policiesContributes to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of programs, processes, policies and tools to meet BSA/AML requirements and industry best practicesContinuously develops/maintains solid knowledge of BSA/AML/OFAC requirements, developments and issues within the Operations departmentRequirements: Bachelor's degree, or specialized training / equivalent work experience years7+ Years of Municipals experience3+ Years of people management experienceMust be detail oriented and possess problem-solving skillsMust be able to work independently with minimal supervision and establish prioritiesProficient in interpersonal communication (both oral and written), and have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management.
