As a result, the technology supporting the business line should be capable of continuous evolution to provide optimum credit trade finance, liquidity, and payment solutions to clients. **Job Summary** We are seeking an accomplished and strategic technology executive to lead our Transaction Banking Value Creation Ledger Strategy team as we deliver on our strategic transformation program to grow and transform our Commercial and Transaction Banking platform. This executive will play a critical role in defining and executing a modern, unified ledger architecture that abstracts complex legacy cores, supports real-time transaction integrity, and enables digital, product, and payments teams to operate independently of underlying systems. The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in core banking, ledger abstraction, and payments architecture, with proven experience influencing C-level stakeholders, shaping enterprise architecture, driving operational resilience and leading complex transformation programs across global financial institutions. This role is central to our multi-year modernization agenda enabling a composable, cloud-native banking platform fit for scale, agility, and future innovation. **Key Responsibilities** + Ledger Strategy defining and owning the long-term strategy for ledger abstraction and orchestration across the platform. Establish a cohesive architecture that decouples digital products, client experiences, and payment services from legacy core systems, while preserving data integrity, traceability, and resilience + Core Modernization & Abstraction Leadership. Influence and enable the transformation of legacy ledger systems into modular, API-accessible services. Champion the introduction of abstraction layers, service meshes, and orchestration engines that enable real-time posting, reconciliation, and accounting functions across diverse platforms in the bank. + Executive Engagement & Influence shaping strategic priorities, advise on investment decisions, and represent ledger and core platform transformation at senior steering committees and architecture forums. + Technology Delivery & Cloud-Native Execution designing and oversee the delivery of ledger and posting services on Azure or Google Cloud, utilizing microservices, Kubernetes, serverless functions, and event streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, Pub/Sub) to drive scalability and resilience. + Drive the adoption of AI in how we can reimagine operational experience. + Governance and Risk: Ensure compliance to all local applicable regulations and drive the highest standards of excellence across our technical and operational teams ensure resiliency and availability to our clients. + Team Building & Culture: Build and lead diverse, high-performing, and engineering-forward teams. Create a delivery culture grounded in innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. **Experience & Qualifications** + 20+ years of progressive technology leadership, with proven recent success in core banking platforms, payments infrastructure and ledger systems for global banks or fintech around Payments, Treasury and Liquidity management leading 200MM change portfolios and global teams. + Recent experience implementing Financial Banking Platform at scale for a significant financial institution. + Innovative thought leader driving modern engineering, modernization and a data and AI first approach to engineering. + Recent leadership of large-scale core banking or ledger transformation programs, including hands-on involvement in abstraction, orchestration, and middleware layer design. + Deep expertise in ledger principles, posting engines, double-entry systems, subledger-to-GL flows, and real-time financial data integrity. + Executive presence and gravitas to engage with senior business and technology leaders, translate complex technical concepts into strategic narratives, and influence funding, prioritization, and enterprise architecture decisions. + Advanced knowledge of modern integration architectures: REST/gRPC APIs, Kafka/pub-sub eventing, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and domain-driven design. + Experience delivering platforms on Azure or Google Cloud, and managing hybrid deployments involving legacy cores and modern services. + Familiarity with global and regional payment networks and messaging standards (e.g., ISO 20022, FedNow, RTP, ACH, SWIFT) + Track record of building high-performing teams, driving architectural maturity, and instilling engineering excellence in large, federated technology organizations. + Experience engaging with external providers, industry groups, and regulatory bodies on ledger modernization, interoperability, or payment infrastructure strategy is highly desirable. + Proven senior executive partnerships with FinTechs, vendors, and platform providers; able to assess build/buy/partner decisions and establish enduring ecosystem relationships. + Excellent cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to drive transformation across product, engineering, operations, and compliance teams. + Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, or a related field. **Who We Are** TD Securities offers a wide range of capital markets products and services to corporate, government, and institutional clients who choose us for our innovation, execution, and experience.
