Vice President - Global Security

Global Security works to minimize disruption and threats that undermine our businesses’ ability to serve our customers by staying in front of external and internal risks, screening all new employees, protecting our franchises when needed with thorough investigations, ensuring the safety of business travelers and working to keep our businesses open during extraordinary situations from weather disruptions to local protests. Our purpose is to mitigate security risk and protect JPMC’s people, assets and reputation. This is achieved by evaluating threat likelihood, assessing its impact and identifying vulnerability to advise detailed application of protective measures consisting of perimeter and building protection, access control, video surveillance, alarm monitoring, personnel protection and general crime & loss prevention. Success is attained through the implementation of global standards, leading outsourced security guarding providers, providing tactical direction to site security functions, in-depth security advice to senior partners, capital project design advice and support to business travelers.

Job Summary

As a Vice President within the Global Security team, you will work with a professional and committed team responsible for protecting the safety of our colleagues, assets, business operations and reputation at all times. You will collaborate with multiple stakeholders for business resilience, incident response, physical security of our facilities, safe travel program and management of compliance of internal and regulatory policies and standards. Work hours may be irregular especially in times of emergency or during specific protracted periods.

Job responsibilities 

Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance within the framework of the firm’s policies and standards.  Conduct risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities or threats to the sites’ security. Implement proactive measures, disruptive remediation, acceptance, mitigation or transference of these risks efficiently and in a timely manner. Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate security staff assigned to the respective sites. Foster a congenial work environment that promotes teamwork and professionalism. Oversee emergency response plans tailored to site-specific risks in collaboration with business and other functions.  Conduct proactive security audits and surprise penetrative testing to assess the effectiveness of security architecture at all sites.  Input and participate in the reporting of security incidents into the security database. Be accountable and responsible for security related issues at site and during JP Morgan transport travel.  Ensure operations support to fire and life safety managers at all sites.  Undertake Executive Protection tasks as required.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

University degree required  15+ years of hands on professional experience in a range of security environments. 3 years of experience in a leadership/supervisory role  Resourceful, flexible and adaptable to changing demands of the business. Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and lead successfully in a highly matrixed regional environment. Ability to listen and think strategically, lead risk mitigation and be innovative in problem solving. Capacity to drive initiatives and achieve qualitative goals within laid down timelines. 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

Knowledge of leading edge physical security technologies, their application and fit-for-purpose deployment. Experience of working on large greenfield projects Understanding of value drivers of physical security peer programs and industry best practices.
