Join the Corporate Development team at Chase, which is broadly responsible for strategic partnerships, investments, and acquisitions across Chase’s consumer lines of business – Consumer Bank, Business Bank, Wealth Management, Card Services, Connected Commerce, Home Lending, and Auto Lending. These initiatives are critical to Chase’s ability to execute on its core strategies and meet the needs of our customers in a rapidly changing financial services ecosystem. The Consumer Bank and Wealth Management team in Corporate Development is responsible for the overall inorganic strategy, including strategic partnerships, investments, and acquisitions within Chase’s Consumer Bank and Wealth Management organizations. The team has three primary functions: 1) identify ways to grow and evolve both businesses through third-party strategies and transactions, 2) lead and execute on all third-party initiatives, including evaluation and negotiation of all transactions, and 3) manage ongoing relationships with existing strategic partners.
As the Vice President and Corporate Development Lead for Consumer Bank and Wealth Management, you will be a key member of a small, high performance team, working across two of the largest businesses within Chase. You should be comfortable leading strategic analyses across multiple projects, forming meaningful relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and have experience in leading through influence across a large, multifaceted organization. You will support Consumer Bank and Wealth Management’s senior executives to evaluate how the financial ecosystem is changing, assess the implications to Chase, and identify external opportunities that will deliver value to our businesses and to Chase’s customers. This role requires outstanding analytical skills, proven experience leading large strategic programs, terrific attention to detail and the ability to produce flawless work across multiple projects. You should have a passion for consumer financial services, FinTech and WealthTech solutions, and for leading relationships with influential internal and external stakeholders.
Job responsibilities:
Lead the evaluation, negotiation, and execution of strategic inorganic opportunities for our Consumer Bank and Wealth Management organizationsCollaboratively develop our book of work and pipeline of opportunities with the lines of business, including identifying key elements of the strategy, analysis of the competitive landscape, leading diligence, and making recommendationsLead presentations and proposals to senior executives across the Consumer Bank and Wealth ManagementLead relationships with external companies and stakeholders, acting as the lead point of contact for JPMorganDevelop and deliver specific partner proposals with the lines of business, including overall vision, partnership economics, and product integrationWork with finance, legal and other functional partners to develop business cases, deal constructs and other key terms associated with partnershipsMonitor external environment for important competitive developments and potential partnership opportunities and share perspectives with key line of business partnersEnsure all deals are executed in accordance with firmwide policies, controls and proceduresRequired qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
6+ years' professional experience focused within Corporate Development, Management Consulting and/or Strategy rolesProven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented, cross functional environmentProven track record of leading large strategic programsAbility to lead and own the end-to-end process to execute strategic partnerships and deals, including negotiation, business casing, and senior level presentationsExperience in managing and leading small teamsOutstanding analytical and problem-solving skillsExceptional oral and written communication skillsOrganized, detail-oriented, with strong project management ability Proven ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholdersExperience and comfort presenting to senior management Bachelors degree or equivalent experience requiredPreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
