This position will assist in developing and implementing office administrative procedures for Veterans Programs (Veteran SSI/SSDI Outreach, Access, and Recovery (SOAR) Program as well as the Veterans Stable Housing Initiative) and perform a wide variety of administrative functions. This position provides the primary administrative support to the Veteran SOAR program. In this role, the Office & Administrative Specialist Intermediate (OAS-I) manages incoming and outgoing correspondence related to Veterans’ Social Security disability claims. This position assists Veteran SOAR Representatives in tracking claim status updates, retaining documents, and logging activities in a case management database. The OAS-I communicates with government and medical customer service representatives by telephone, mail, email, and fax. This position will schedule meetings for the Veteran SOAR Program. This position will manage purchasing of supplies for Veterans Programs as well as assist with travel and training registration. This position will assist in administering Veterans Programs by creating payments and creating and maintaining vendors in the Statewide Integrated Financial Tools system (SWIFT). This position also assists in providing administrative support for the Veterans Stable Housing Initiative. Only applicants whose resumes clearly demonstrate fulfillment of each of these minimum qualifications will be considered for this position. **Minimum Qualifications** + Knowledge of communications sufficient to communicate effectively with internal and external customers. + Customer service skills sufficient to provide prompt, courteous and accurate information to a variety of customers over the phone, in person and via email. + Knowledge of keyboarding/typing skills sufficient to perform skilled typing tasks with speed and accuracy. + Knowledge of standard computer software programs (such as Microsoft Office) for word processing, spreadsheets, and databases sufficient to create, modify, and protect files. + Document and records management sufficient to maintain electronic or paper files for efficient organization and retrieval of information such as contracts, grants, agreements, and other various documents. + Knowledge of math sufficient to calculate totals, averages, and percentages of numbers and/or data. **Preferred Qualifications** + Experience with accounting/financial tracking systems/software. + Experience with database management. **Additional Requirements** + A Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check may be conducted on the top finalist(s) for the position(s).
