Job Title: Vessel WelderJob Description

We are seeking skilled Vessel Welders to join our team. You will be responsible for welding on storage tanks, spheres, and water towers ranging from 23ft to 43ft. This role involves using stick and flux core welding techniques for vessels and components. You will predominantly work with carbon steel up to 3 inches thick, requiring proficiency in back gouging for 100% x-ray welds.

ResponsibilitiesWeld on storage tanks, spheres, and water towers using stick and flux core techniques.Utilize stick welding approximately 20% of the time and flux core for the remainder.Perform welding on carbon steel up to 3 inches thick.Execute back gouging for x-ray quality welds.Operate an overhead crane for safe and efficient welding processes.Essential Skills3+ years of experience as a vessel welder.Ability to pass 2G and 3G weld tests and proficient in back gouging.Proficiency in welding with flux core and stick methods.Experience in operating an overhead crane.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in fitting is a plus.Recent success in passing 2G and 3G tests with stick and flux core.Experience in fabricating storage tanks, vessels, and towers.Ability to read prints and work with isometric drawings.Capability to perform own layouts and fit-ups.Willingness to learn pipe fitting if not already skilled.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

You will be working in a large, non-climate-controlled shop that houses a lot of heavy equipment. Safety is a high priority in this environment. The position involves a rotating shift pattern, starting with day shifts for six months (6:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with Saturdays as needed), followed by night shifts for two to four months (4:15 p.m. - 2:45 a.m., Monday through Friday) with a $2.00 shift differential.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.50 - $30.00/hr.
