What you’ll do:

Demonstrate capability in working on NPI(Resulting cost out)/VAVE/Resourcing projects for Lighting products commercial, industrial & harsh/hazardous environments.
Provide Product knowledge & expertise in support of manufacturing, especially during NPI Industrialization phases and change management. 
Drive VAVE and New products leading cost out to support customer, manufacturing, applicable regulatory and industry standards, and market requirements through Change Management process within the scope of the Fire product line. 
Perform teardown, generate ideas, perform system / component sizing, modeling, and simulation to meet product design and compliance requirements.
Select engineering techniques to solve problems and make design recommendations.
Modify existing products to support customer, manufacturing, applicable regulatory and industry standard, and market requirement.
Utilize knowledge of metals and plastics to suggest alternative material and provide engineering judgement on the impact on the product from cost, testing and certification perspective.
Knowledge of low voltage switchgear standards in accordance with IEC/UL/CSA/CCC codes which will allow development of test plans. 
Assess test results, perform root cause analysis through test findings/failures and take corrective/preventive actions.
Support quality team with annual calibration and checks to ensure detector product family remain fully compliant to existing standards.
Responsible for design engineering analysis on current path, mechanism, spring, bimetals, housing, actuator circuit, arc chamber, coils etc. 
Review Supplier Document Requirements List based on product requirements, customer specifications or industry standards like IEC, NEMA etc.
Review reliability predictions, Design Failure Modes, and Effects analysis (FMEA). 
Perform a wide variety of engineering and technical tasks involving the application of engineering knowledge and the development of solutions to complex problems pertaining to products, materials, manufacturing processes (Casting, forging, machining, plastic Injection molding, sheet metal),  tests, and unique customer applications
Will be responsible for execution of the project and perform activities like Production feasibility assessment and production Part Approval Process (PPAP) etc.
Complete design (2D drawings / 3D Models) in UG-NX or Solid works. 
Knowledge on PLM systems (Enovia, SAP) will be required. 
Support to prepare material for design reviews.

Qualifications:

Bachelor or master’s degree of Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 7 to 9 years of experience in NPI, VAVE or Resourcing projects 
3+ years of experience in industrialization of electrical & electronic products
Knowledge of Fire/Smoke Detection systems an advantage
Proficiency knowledge of the following technologies is required: SolidWorks, Enovia, SAP
DFSS green belt certified will be an added advantage
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Experience with Lean Six Sigma principles and methodologies preferred
Being aware and motivated to work in a complex technological environment and component ecosystem
Being aware that a project engineering team is distributed worldwide and the activity means dealing with the complexity of remote contributions
Listening to catch and understand customer needs
Fluent in English communication, oral and written
Must have SAP change management exposure
Strong customer oriented (Cost out Users) communication skills
Candidate may need to travel to other ES EMEA Plant locations 

Skills:

New Product  development process 
Design, Tolerance stacks up, DFMEA, DFM
Exposure to Product Lifecycle management (PLM) programs.
Must have Change management process and Cost out Cost out process understanding.
Should have MS Excel Skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot, Charts etc.)
Having exposure to Power BI will be added advantage
Must be organized and a self-starter
Must have people skills to deal with various departments
Should have good Capability of abstraction and should be process oriented
Should have worked on Bulk load features in Enovia
