Utility Worker
**Job Title: Utility Worker** Job Description The Utility Worker will have the important responsibility of preparing products for day shift use and monitoring the sifting and filling of the Bagging Department's storage tanks. This position will also assist the Furnace Operator with tasks in the Grinding Department and perform daily plant housekeeping, requiring the use of a dust particulate respirator during air wand blowdowns at the plant site. Responsibilities + Prepare products for day shift use. + Monitor sifting and filling of Bagging Department storage tanks. + Assist Furnace Operator with Grinding Department tasks. + Perform daily plant housekeeping. + Dress glass piles and load cullet into the plant shredder system. + Remove contaminants from glass piles to prevent equipment plug-up and quality issues, reporting significant issues to management or lead operator. + Operate equipment safely and efficiently. + Possess knowledge of raw material processing flow and troubleshoot problems as they occur. + Operate a forklift safely. + Monitor and coordinate bulk dust operations. + Perform minor maintenance and greasing operations on plant equipment. + Monitor dryer operations and gas rates to ensure efficient process operation. Essential Skills + Forklift operation experience. + Ability to perform general labor tasks. + Knowledge of raw material processing flow. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. + Medical certification to wear a respirator. + Ability to wear prescription safety glasses or protective glasses. + Must adhere to safety attire requirements including steel-toe shoes, hardhat, hearing protection, long pants, Hi-Viz long sleeve shirts or jacket, and gloves. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of CANBY, Oregon. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $24.11 - $24.11/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
