Gas work would be limited to modules and disconnecting gas service only. Other duties will include meter verifies and performing gas and water meter loop inspections in preparation for a meter installation within Colorado Springs Utilities service territory. In this job you will collaborate with a wide variety of other utility workgroups and contractors daily to ensure safe, reliable, and affordable utility services to the customers of Colorado Springs Utilities. **Essential Job Duties** + Perform water and gas meter set inspections + Installs, connects, disconnects, reconnects, removes, exchanges, and troubleshoots water utility service points (meters, modules, etc.) + Operator qualified to identify A.O.C.’s (Abnormal Operating Conditions) on gas equipment and disconnecting gas service and other OQs (Operator Qualifications) that are deemed necessary + Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve automated meter reading (AMR) and advanced meter infrastructure (AMI) network and component issues + Investigate all orders that impact our customers’ billing (reading of meters, suspected high consumption, zero consumption, module issues with gas, electric, and water meters, etc. + Partner with Pikes Peak Regional Building Department (PPRBD) and perform gas and water meter loop inspections to ensure meter installations meet PPRBD and Colorado Springs Utilities standards and specifications + Investigate and document utility diversions (theft) + Represents the company in a professional manner, handling escalated customers and providing exceptional customer service + Utilizes radios, computers, cellular phones, mobile workforce management applications, customer information systems, and other telecommunications tools and applications in the performance of daily duties + Completes accurate order documentation and data entry + Adheres to all safety policies and procedures + Operates and maintains a company utility vehicle + Maintains accountability of assigned tools and equipment **Who you are...** to be considered for this exciting opportunity, ideally, you will have a minimum of 1 year of utility or construction experience + You will also be required to work in inclement weather and work nights and weekends, as business necessitates + This position requires the successful candidate to drive a Colorado Springs Utilities vehicle; a valid, unrestricted driver's license is required **_The ability to maintainEssential Job Certifications_** • Water Meter Maintenance Certification • Gas Operator Qualification Training **PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:** + Exerts 50-100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or 25-50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or 10-20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
