Job Description:
The Sanitation Worker/Utility Operator plays a critical role in maintaining cleanliness, safety, and compliance throughout the dairy production facility. This position ensures that all areas, including equipment, production lines, and waste systems, are properly cleaned and sanitized according to FDA, USDA, GMP, and HACCP standards.
Responsibilities:
Perform cleaning and sanitation of production equipment, floors, walls, and facility areas.Remove trash and recycling from designated zones and dispose of product waste into Tank 18 (waste tank).Operate sanitation tools and chemical systems safely and effectively.Follow SSOPs (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures) and maintain accurate cleaning logs.Prepare for and support internal and third-party audits.Collaborate with QA, Maintenance, and Production teams to resolve sanitation-related issues.Ensure compliance with safety protocols and PPE requirements.Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and improve operational efficiency.Essential Skills:
High school diploma or GED preferred.1–3 years of experience in sanitation, janitorial, or environmental services roles.Familiarity with FDA, USDA, GMP, and HACCP standards.Ability to work in refrigerated, non-climate-controlled, and strong-odor environments.Comfortable with chemical handling and safety documentation (SDS).Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Shift:
10 PM-6 AM or 5 PM-3 AM shift Monday-Friday, with some weekends on an as-needed basis.
Work Environment:
This role is based in a cold and sometimes wet GMP facility where dairy products are produced and distributed. The work environment requires adherence to safety protocols, and employees should be comfortable working in non-climate-controlled areas with strong odors.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Frederick, Maryland.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
