**Utility Laborer** **Job Description** The Construction Laborer plays a crucial role in supporting underground utility installation for large-scale data center projects. This position involves hands-on field work, assisting with the installation, repair, and maintenance of essential infrastructure such as duct banks, conduit systems, manholes, vaults, stormwater piping, and other below-grade utilities. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment. **Responsibilities** + Install conduit, duct banks, and utility piping according to project specifications and engineered drawings. + Support concrete placement for encasements, pads, and underground structures. + Operate hand tools and small equipment such as compactors, saws, jackhammers, and trenchers. + Maintain clean and organized work areas to ensure safe and efficient operations. + Assist equipment operators and foremen by spotting, signaling, and providing general labor support. + Follow all safety protocols including PPE requirements, trench safety, and utility-related procedures. + Perform backfilling, compaction, and site restoration after utility installation. + Support installation of manholes, vaults, and pull boxes for data center infrastructure. + Read and follow basic construction plans and instructions from supervisors. **Essential Skills** + Experience with excavators and underground utilities. + General construction laborer experience. + Familiarity with utility construction and electrical systems. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Bilingual communication skills (Spanish/English) are a plus, given the majority Spanish-speaking workforce. **Why Work Here?** Join a team where you have the opportunity to work on the largest construction project in the area with compensation well above market value. The standard work schedule is Monday to Thursday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with overtime opportunities available on Fridays. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Branchville, SC. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
