Utility Controls Engineer
Job Title: Utility Controls EngineerJob Description

As a Central Utility Controls Engineer, you will support the definition, development, testing, and implementation of Boiler, Water Polishing, and Balance of Plant (BOP) solutions using the latest automation technologies from industry-leading OEMs.

ResponsibilitiesCreate and develop Functional Specifications, including Sequence of Operations (SOO) and Bill of Materials (BOMs).Support Electrical Designers in developing project drawing packages.Develop, test, and deploy PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), DCSs (Distributed Control Systems), and HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces) for Central Utility Applications.Develop Test Plans for both Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and support the execution of both tests.Support loop checks, start-up, and commissioning activities to successfully deploy Central Utility solutions.Perform formal and informal customer training as required.Troubleshoot existing systems that may be malfunctioning.Essential Skills3+ years of Industrial controls engineering experience.Experience with central utility systems such as boilers, chillers, BMS, CHP, and district energy.Strong PLC/DCS/HMI background with systems such as Rockwell, AVEVA, Ignition, and DeltaV.Experience in industrial facilities, energy plants, hospitals, universities, or manufacturing utilities.Comfort with commissioning, startups, FAT/SAT.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.Working knowledge of automation functions like Boiler Combustion Controls, 3-Element Control, Burner Management Systems, and others.Experience with technology providers like Rockwell Automation, AVEVA, Ignition, Emerson DeltaV.Familiarity with communication protocols such as Modbus, EthernetIP, DNP3, OPC, BACnet, Profinet.Preferred: PE License and ability to lead project scope.Additional years of experience are welcome.Work Environment

The work environment includes clean offices and organized, efficient utility plants. There is an expectation of 25% travel for customer meetings, site visits, and field duties. Employees have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and carve their own career paths.

This is a Permanent position based out of Aurora, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
