Utilities Project Engineer
Job Title: Project EngineerJob Description We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer with a bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or a related technical field. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of seven years of experience supporting capital projects related to industrial utilities such as ammonia refrigeration, boiler and steam systems, air compressors, and high-voltage power. Responsibilities + Lead capital projects ensuring proper specifications, optimal maintenance, and safe operation of utilities equipment. + Ensure regulatory compliance with all governmental agencies. + Provide guidance and expertise to project team members. + Support plants with facility utility upgrades. + Develop conservation strategies to maximize energy efficiencies through new and renovated utility installations. + Coordinate activities between corporate suppliers and outside contractors on capital projects. Essential Skills + Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical field. + Minimum of seven years experience in capital projects for industrial utilities. + Experience with ammonia refrigeration and capital management. + Design skills and proficiency in AutoCAD. + Experience with utilities in the food, beverage, or similar industries. + Strong communication skills to build relationships with plants, vendors, and design firms. + Familiarity with complex systems like ammonia refrigeration and combined heat and power (CHP). + PSM (Process Safety Management) and OSHA 10-hour certification. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in industries such as food, beverage, chemical, or heavy manufacturing. + Comfortable working on-site at plants during construction, startup, and commissioning. + Experience with large-scale refrigeration systems such as industrial cold storage. Work Environment This role involves significant travel, with up to 70% of the time spent traveling to various work sites. The remaining time will be spent working virtually with various teams. The company provides a private plane for travel and covers all expenses. The work involves installing new refrigeration systems and working with local teams. The role predominantly involves ammonia refrigeration but also includes steam, cogen, compressors, and boilers. Employees enjoy a hybrid remote work model, working three days on-site and one day remotely. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Denver, CO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $150000.00/yr. health, dental, vision, 401k, profit sharing, bonuses. Workplace Type This is a hybrid position in Denver,CO.
