Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a User Experience Engineer/Designer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL.
Position Overview:
The selected User Experience Engineer/Designer will provide support for the MASC-F (Modeling and Simulation – Framework) program.
Essential Functions:
Drive enhancements to MASC-F products to improve the user experience of our tools and interfaces
Manage projects and work product integrations across the Software Development, Systems Engineering, User Engagement teams, and customer stakeholder teams
Be responsible for the overall user interface modernization for MASC-F products, tools, and utilities.
Work with agile scrum teams to verify acceptance criteria related to interface modernization and usability
Identify and maintain user personas to represent key segments of our vast user base to identify UI/UX improvements and understand likely impacts to changes in the user interfaces of MASC-F tools and utilities
Processing user feedback to form mid-fidelity wireframes to produce high-fidelity mockups to be used by developers.
Work with the Systems Engineering team to help define development requirements
Analyzing competitor applications to identify potential UI/UX improvements
Work alongside customer stakeholders to select UI/UX features to be worked, gather feedback on potential design updates, and maintain an agile backlog of potential UI/UX enhancements and modernizations for future consideration
Proactively identify areas where UI/UX support is needed and insert themselves into relevant meetings, discussions, and projects to provide expertise and guidance
As the sole UI/UX expert on the team, drive UI/UX decisions and ensure that user-centered design principles are integrated into all aspects of the program

This requisition may be filled at either a Software Engineer / Principal Software Engineer level.
Basic Qualifications for a Software Developer:
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related experience.
2+ Years experience in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Balsamiq, Adobe XD, or InVision.
Understanding of user-centered design principles and human-computer interaction.
Experience in front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
Experience with Agile, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment.
Demonstrate strong collaboration skills

Primary Level Salary Range: $87,600.00 - $131,400.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $108,800.00 - $163,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
