The Senior Manager, Program Management – Portfolio & Storytelling drives an integrated agenda that simplifies complexity, accelerates idea-to-execution, and ensures data-driven decisions land with clarity and impact. This role combines portfolio leadership—orchestrating multiple cross-functional initiatives from concept through launch—with executive storytelling, shaping narratives and creating polished content that influences senior leaders. Success means delivering measurable business outcomes, improving decision velocity, and elevating communication standards across the enterprise.
What You’ll Do
Portfolio & Program Leadership
Design and execute portfolio operating models: translate strategy into detailed business plans, timelines, budgets, and success measures; manage RAID logs and governance cadences to keep initiatives on track.
Drive execution of multiple concurrent business plans: prioritize work, allocate resources, eliminate roadblocks, and activate contingency plans to maintain momentum.
Establish lightweight processes and scorecards: implement dashboards and collaboration tools that speed decision-making and ensure disciplined follow-up.
Elevate program-management maturity: lead gap analyses, validate improvement opportunities, and implement streamlined processes rooted in best practices.
Partner with senior leaders: clarify goals, success metrics, and risks; guide the organization through a disciplined program-management life cycle to surface and resolve critical issues quickly.
Champion continuous improvement: apply structured problem analysis to uncover root causes, craft pragmatic solutions, and foster a culture of innovation and intelligent risk-taking.
Storytelling & Executive Content
Shape the story: convert complex analysis into clear, actionable narratives that drive alignment and decision-making at the executive level.
Create and polish executive-ready content: build high-quality decks, one-pagers, and visual frameworks for senior forums.
Launch and maintain a storytelling system: develop templates, glossaries, and style guides that standardize communication and reduce review cycles.
Coach presenters and stakeholders: provide talk tracks, speaker notes, and influence plans to ensure clarity and confidence in delivery.
Measure and improve communication impact: track cycle time, iteration rates, and stakeholder satisfaction to continuously refine content and processes.
What You’ll Bring
Proven portfolio/program leadership: ability to orchestrate complex, cross-functional initiatives from strategy through execution, ensuring measurable outcomes.
Executive storytelling expertise: mastery in crafting narratives and visual content that simplify complexity and influence senior decision-makers.
Strategic and analytical mindset: connects data to business outcomes, frames trade-offs, and applies structured problem-solving to drive results.
Operational discipline: skilled in building governance models, dashboards, and scorecards that improve transparency and accountability.
Influence and stakeholder management: builds trust, negotiates trade-offs, and leads through ambiguity with confidence.
Technical fluency: comfortable with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker), project-management platforms (Smartsheet, Jira), and collaboration tools.
Preferred: PMP or equivalent certification; experience in retail, operations, or corporate strategy; advanced PowerPoint and data visualization skills.
