About the RoleAs a Principal TPM, you will serve as a strategic leader and technical authority across multiple programs and platforms, including Workday and OpenStack. You’ll drive enterprise-wide initiatives, influence architectural decisions, and ensure alignment between business goals and technical execution. Your role will be pivotal in shaping the roadmap, guiding cross-functional teams, and delivering innovative solutions that elevate Walmart’s People Technology ecosystem.
What You’ll DoStrategic Program Leadership: Own the delivery of large-scale, cross-functional programs that span multiple business units and geographies. Define program vision, success metrics, and execution strategy.Enterprise Architecture Alignment: Collaborate with engineering, architecture, and product teams to ensure Workday and OpenStack solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with Walmart’s enterprise standards.Executive Stakeholder Engagement: Influence senior leaders across HR, Tech, and Business functions. Communicate program status, risks, and outcomes with clarity and confidence.Technical Oversight: Guide the design, integration, and optimization of Workday Recruiting, Reporting, and Core HCM modules. Ensure robust data flows, system uptime, and compliance.Mentorship & Leadership: Coach Staff TPMs and other team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.Risk & Change Management: Anticipate and mitigate risks across programs. Lead change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption and minimal disruption.Operational Excellence: Drive best practices in program tracking, issue resolution, and documentation using tools like Jira, ServiceNow, and Confluence.What You’ll Bring10+ years of experience leading enterprise-scale HR technology programs, preferably within Walmart or similarly complex environments.Expert-level proficiency in Workday (including Studio, Prism, and Reporting) and OpenStack platforms.Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with a track record of influencing across technical and non-technical stakeholders.Advanced knowledge of program management tools and methodologies (Agile, SAFe, etc.).Demonstrated success in mentoring senior-level TPMs and driving cross-functional alignment.Growth mindset, with a passion for innovation, simplification, and delivering measurable business impact.At Walmart, we offer competitive pay as well as performance-based bonus awards and other great benefits for a happier mind, body, and wallet. The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00
