We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer – Fullstack for a key position to deliver key experiences for our Corporate Social Responsibility products. We are looking for a highly motivated engineer who will be playing a crucial role in design and implementation of high performing systems and 3rd party integrations which are production ready to serve community and our associates.

About Team: Corporate Affairs tech
Our team is focused on developing a streamlined, dependable company that includes service operations and technology solutions for Finance, People, and Associate Digital Experience (ADE). We also provide a variety of services such as procurement, supplier portfolio management, merchandising master data, and analytics. From developing HR chatbots and virtual assistants to creating invoice solutions and facilitating legal changes, we help drive efficiency across Walmart globally.

What you'll do:

Technical Leadership:

Guide and mentor, a team of engineers, conducting code reviews and leading design discussions to ensure engineering best practices.

Act as a technical authority, providing direction and expertise to the team.

Drive the adoption of coding standards, design patterns, and development best practices.

Architectural Leadership:

Lead the creation and maintenance of our technical architecture, aligning it with business goals and scalability requirements.

Architect complex software systems, ensuring performance, security, and scalability needs are met.

Software Craftsmanship:

Consistently produce high-quality software with a focus on unit testing, regular code reviews, and continuous integration.

Uphold high standards in quality and operational excellence.

Technical Documentation:

Develop comprehensive technical documentation and presentations to clearly communicate architectural decisions and design options.

Ensure documentation aligns with project scopes, milestones, and deliverables.

Engineering Advocacy:

Promote and enforce technical standards across the organization to achieve concrete outcomes and drive engineering excellence.

Foster a culture of learning and innovation through hands-on technical guidance and mentorship.

Project Leadership:

Lead the discovery phase of major projects, ensuring the design aligns with business goals and technical requirements.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scopes and milestones.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

Collaborate closely with Product Management, UX/UI, Quality Assurance, and DevOps teams.

Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Innovation and Research:

Stay at the forefront of technological advancements, conducting research to identify emerging tools and methodologies.


What you'll bring:

Over 10+ years of experience in building and modernizing a broad array of technology spanning both backend and frontend development.

Strong development experience in multiple modern programming languages such as Java, NodeJs, Python, ReactJS/Angular

Deploy applications in public clouds like Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure and on-prem using technologies like Docker and Kubernetes

Strong expertise in modern development practices and CICD

Strong expertise in enterprise architecture, integration patterns, data models and algorithms

Design and implement scalable software application using Java, Spring framework, SQL/NOSQL databases like Cassandra, Cosmos DB.

Design and develop RESTful APIs and distributed and event driven applications using messaging systems ApacheKafka, Rabbit MQ.

Develop integration and unit test suites testing framework like Junit, TestNG

Extensive experience in cloud architecture and strong understanding of cloud technology, including Global Tech Managed Service Offerings, Security and Cloud migration.

Design alerting and monitoring for the application using tools like Splunk, Dynatrace.

Clear, concise communication skills

Ability to multitask between several different requirements and features concurrently

Superior analytical skills with a good problem-solving attitude. Ability to perform in a team environment. Have a true passion about Technology.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00
