The US Logistics Operations Specialist orchestrates and implements comprehensive logistics strategies for US operations, while driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency and performance across the supply chain network.  This role leads the daily operations of US Logistics by planning seamless product delivery that optimizes efficiency, punctuality, quality assurance, and safety compliance across the entire US supply chain operation. 

Job Description

Bulk Transportation Management:

Plan and manage domestic finished goods shipments from production and storage facilities (primary and secondary) to ensure timely placement of inventory to meet customer demandsOptimize NA truck and rail fleet deployment strategically to ensure timely fulfillment of customer ordersTroubleshoot and resolve shipment complications while managing system transactions to optimize freight movementManage seasonal fluctuations and peak period planning

Package Transportation Management:

Track and analyze shipment progress with third party suppliers in real-timeTroubleshoot and resolve shipment complications while managing system transactions to optimize freight movementForge strategic partnerships with external suppliers to align transportation capabilities with production demands and customer expectationsStrategically plan and monitor interplant shipments, stock transfer shipments, customer orders, and returnsManage seasonal fluctuations and peak period planning

Warehouse Operations:

Develop and maintain strategic relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs)Identify potential improvements in ways of working to improve efficiency and accuracy in warehouse operationsMonitor warehouse performance and compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).Oversee Crop Protection warehouse operations, planning for finished goods, raw materials, and packaging storage and handling to support US formulation and finished goods distribution

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

Manage key suppliers to ensure their performance is compliant with KPIs and expectations of their contractDevelop and maintain logistics performance dashboardsImplement strategic supplier management approaches to resolve performance challengesAssess and adjudicate accessorial charge requests, balancing cost control with operational efficiency to optimize US Logistics spendGenerate and present KPI, PGI, and Utilization reports to provide senior management with data driven solutions for continuous improvementMaintain optimal inventory accuracy through proactive discrepancy resolution, while implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory management systems and reduce errors.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

Collaborate with Supply Chain Planning, Production, Direct Procurement, Digital Productivity & Innovation, Regulatory, Quality, Product Technology & Engineering, HSE, Customer Service, and NA Logistics colleaguesDevelop and Implement solutions for challenges arising in Distribution Planning, Inventory Management, Import/Export operations, and Production processes as they relate to the US Supply ChainDevelop strategies to enhance customer satisfaction through improved logisticsCollaborate with Customer Service, Sales and Marketing to align logistics capabilities with customer needs

Continuous Improvement and Budget Management:

Identify and propose new technologies or processes to improve efficiencyLead pilot programs for new technologies or processesManage implementation of new logistics systems or processesCreate and execute contingency plans for supply chain disruptionsSpearhead data-driven initiatives to uncover and implement cost-reduction strategies throughout the end-to-end logistics networkUtilize and maintain proficiency in relevant logistics and transportation management systems

QualificationsBachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or equivalent experienceAt least 5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or warehouse operationsKnowledge of warehouse operations, logistics, distribution & inventory management principlesProficiency in Logistics based technology solutions (such as SAP, TMS, WMS)Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to make timely and efficient decisions
