With a focus on immunology that extends to innovation in diabetes and transplant medicines, we pursue progress to make a real impact on millions of patients around the world. **Main Responsibilities:** The _US Field Medical Director,_ _Autoimmune T1D_ will contribute to development and execution of the medical and scientific strategy for the T1D in the US. _This is a field role and will be focused on external engagement._ External Stakeholder Engagement (60%) + Support the development and execution of Medical external engagement strategy and tactics for the 1. T1D country stakeholder medical road map, and 2. the regional/territory medical road maps. + Act as a scientific subject matter expert and continuously maintain a world class competency in the field. + Responsible for establishing and fostering strategic relationships with the most critical external key opinion leaders (KOLs), professional societies, T1D advisory bodies, and patient advocacy groups. + Utilize advanced scientific expertise to support quality decision making with external groups that decide on T1D policy nationally, and at the level of strategic accounts (health systems, pharmacy chains, public health units, etc) + Collaborate closely with Medical Value and Outcome Liaisons, Medical Science Liaisons and Population Health Strategists during external engagement by providing deeper scientific expertise on T1D and Franchise specific products. Data Generation (15%) + Collaborate with Home-Office Medical Directors and be a contributor to the global franchise integrated Evidence Generation Plan (iEGP). + Discuss the iEGP strategy with external experts seeking external validation and insights. + Foster collaboration with external partners to serve the iEGP approved research goals. + Collaborate with Home Office Medical Directors, Global Medical and R&D to conduct epidemiological studies and clinical trials in the US + Participate in publications as expert and with authorship according to ICME criteria Strategy (15%) + Support the development and execution of external Medical engagement strategy and tactics for the T1D Franchise. + Act as a North/South Medical expert for strategic and tactical planning for the T1D franchise. Internal Collaboration/Communication (10%) + Provide scientific expertise to internal stakeholders + Provide training to field-based medical team on all current and new publications and related assets in collaboration with Home Office Medical Directors. **About you** **Requirements:** + MD level science degree required. + Endocrinology background with T1D Screening experience required + Previous pharmaceutical industry experience with relevant Type I Diabetes/Immunology expertise. + Prior customer facing experience or total related industry experience of >5 years (required) + Fluency in spoken and written business English.
