As a Business Control Manager Vice President within the Commercial & Investment Bank, you will ensure the line of business has a sustainable and disciplined end-to-end control environment. You will identify and escalate issues with urgency, partner with the business to ensure timely remediation, and assist in top-down risk analysis, real-time control issue detection, escalation, root cause analysis, and remediation.
Job Responsibilities:
Evaluate and perform end-to-end analysis of the business’ risk and control environment with stakeholders. Identify significant gaps and weaknesses and determine root causes of control breaks. Ensure controls are properly designed, operating effectively, and essential to a proactive risk and control culture. Leverage proven evaluation strategies and sound change management protocols. Perform ongoing analysis of program-related data (e.g., KRI/KPI) to support business programs and strategies. Develop ad-hoc reports as requested to support business-related programs. Assist with development of Risk & Control Self-Assessment mapping and documentation. Participate in end-to-end process walkthroughs and deep dives with assigned business units. Collaborate with team members across global time zones to drive control initiatives. Communicate findings and recommendations to senior management. Prioritize multiple tasks and ensure completion within established timeframes.Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. 7 years of professional experience in financial services with a background in controls, audit, quality assurance, operational risk management, or compliance; or equivalent subject matter expertise in a relevant business-related function. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize business data and convey complex ideas simply. Confident professional with good judgment, maturity, and poise to interact with and influence senior management. Well-organized with the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks. Collaborative style, flexible, and able to partner with team members across global time zones.Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
Basic understanding of trade life cycle, equity, and markets. Prior front office exposure.
