Join our team as an Upfitter, where you will play a crucial role in building vocational trucks using your assembly, hydraulic, 12v electric, and fabrication skills. This position involves working with blueprints, diagrams, and instructions to ensure precise installations and adherence to established standards.
ResponsibilitiesBuild vocational trucks through assembly, hydraulic, 12v electric, and fabrication skills.Read blueprints, diagrams, and instructions to guide assembly processes.Follow installation procedures and established standards for quality assurance.Attend pre-install meetings to prepare for upcoming projects.Accurately read required measuring tools such as calipers, tape measures, and squares.Perform hose and fitting assembly, routing, and plumbing tasks.Conduct pressure setting and testing for hydraulic systems.Assemble, route, and terminate wire harnesses according to 12v electric schematics.Set up and test systems to ensure proper functionality.Engage in minor fabrication and welding, including welding in various positions such as vertical, flat, and overhead.Use appropriate settings on welders for different metal thicknesses.Utilize welding blankets on truck cabs and windows to protect surfaces.Clean weld spatter and welding slag from work areas.Perform aluminum welding and form metals for truck equipment installations.Utilize various power tools such as drills, impact wrenches, air ratchets, grinders, and iron workers as needed.Use a time tracking system to monitor job progress.Make recommendations for procedural changes that benefit the general interest.Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management.Essential SkillsStrong mechanical aptitude with technical understanding of hydraulics, electrical systems, and primary functions of equipment used in the industry.Knowledge of basic hydraulics and 12-volt electrical systems.Ability to wire stop/start systems and use programmers.Understanding of fitting sizes and hydraulic hoses.Proficiency in operating a saw for cutting steel and using a plasma cutter.Capability to use an oxygen/acetylene torch.Skill in adjusting pressures and reliefs.Basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations.Basic welding and fabrication abilities.Ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics.Mechanical design and practical experience in hydraulics, structural, or mechanical layout.Additional Skills & QualificationsTechnical college degree desired or successful completion of a structured on-the-job training program.2-5 years' experience in field service of heavy equipment is preferred.Work Environment
This position requires working in an environment exposed to elements such as extreme temperatures, various weather conditions, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises. The role involves physical activities such as sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Frequent lifting and moving of up to 50 pounds are required. Specific vision abilities needed include close vision, distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $42000.00 - $73000.00/yr.
