As a **Unit Secretary/Monitor Tech** at MercyOne, you will under limited supervision perform clerical and receptionist duties and observes the cardiac monitors within a specific nursing unit. Transcribes physician orders and performs computer activities. Consistent with the Mission of MercyOne, Vision of Patient Care Services, evidence-based standards of care, and established policies and procedures. **Schedule:** + 0.9 FTE (36 hours a week) + 6:00am - 6:30pm + Weekend and holiday rotation **General Requirements:** + Clerical skills and ability to effectivelyutilizewritten and oral communications. + Demonstrateabilityto understand and follow directions. + Demonstrates ability to interpret cardiac rhythm andoperatemonitor equipment. + Record and report information such as vital signs, intake and output, weight, and any behavioral changes toappropriate supervisorypersonnel. + Maintain, assemble, and organize equipment needed for asafesecure environment. + Performadditionalduties as requested such as transporting patients and obtaining medications, supplies, and medical records from other departments. + Demonstrate a caring practice by respecting the rights of an individual or group. + Demonstrateabilitytoimpactchange within your department and with other departments. + Demonstrate skills as an effective team member. + Respect the confidentiality of an individual or group, unlessobligatedto disclose under proper authorization or legal compulsion. + Maintain a safe environment of care. + Communicate care effectively: both verbally and written. **Education:** + Must be 17 years of age. May berequiredto be 18 years of agein some areas. + High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred. All Certified Nursing Assistants are encouraged tobelong tothe National Nursing Aide Registry. In certainareas, participation in the registry is required. + Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training isrequiredwithin 6 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter. + Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) will berequiredwithin30 daysof hire and every year thereafter.
