Unit Secretary
As a Unit Secretary in Diagnostic Imaging, you’ll be the central hub of communication, coordination, and administrative support. Your work ensures seamless patient flow, accurate information-sharing, and smooth daily operations in a fast-paced clinical environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a supportive, team-based setting and brings professionalism, attentiveness, and a commitment to outstanding service. **Key Responsibilities** + **Support Patient Flow & Communication** Greet and assist patients and visitors, manage calls and messages, relay updates to clinical staff, and maintain an organized, welcoming front desk. + **Clerical & Administrative Support** Handle daily clerical tasks (scanning, copying, faxing, filing), maintain departmental records, support special projects, troubleshoot office equipment, and schedule routine exams. + **Medical Record & Documentation Management** Prepare, organize, and maintain patient records; verify identifiers and documentation; and manage record transfers per policy. + **Order Entry & Requisition Support** Enter basic orders, track requisitions, identify missing information, and communicate documentation needs to the care team. + **Operational Support** Print and maintain schedules, provide appointment information, and support smooth patient flow across departments. **Required Qualifications** + High school diploma required. + Post-secondary vocational training or medical terminology coursework preferred (or equivalent experience/on-the-job training). + Strong communication skills and customer‑service orientation. + Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work both independently and as part of a team. **About NVRH** Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) is a not-for-profit, community-focused critical access hospital located in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, serving more than 33,000 residents across Caledonia and southern Essex counties.
