The Relief Operating Engineer also provides coverage for Watch Operating Engineers, during absences, for the operation and maintenance of a high-pressure steam plant. The coverage will be on a rotating shift per the schedule of the absent Watch Operating Engineer. **What you’ll do** + Observe, maintain, and repair steam plant, water treatment, and HVAC equipment to ensure + proper operation and compliance to site requirements. + Read meters, gauges, and recording devices, document operational parameters, to comply with EPA and DEP regulations, and site requirements. + Perform preventative maintenance activities on steam plant, water treatment, and HVAC equipment. + Oversee third party vendor service activities to ensure work is performed safely and appropriately. + Receive fuel, chemical, and parts deliveries. + Move equipment and parts with the use of a pallet jack or forklift truck. + Will be called upon to occasionally work overtime as required by workload. **What you’ll need** + Minimum of 2-4 years experience in the operation of a high-pressure steam plant. + Ability to bring boilers and associated equipment on-line and off-line in a safe manner. + Perform and monitor plant steam equipment to identify abnormalities. + Understand, perform testing, and adjust boiler water chemistry to meet operational requirements. + Must possess a State of New Jersey Red Seal Operating Power Plant license or a Blue Seal License with the understanding that the applicant will obtain a Red Seal within a year. + Ability to work outside of normal shift rotation during Watch Operating Engineer absences. **Why CBRE?** CBRE is the premier provider of Facility Management services. The negotiated rate for the Union Relief Engineer position is $94,120 annually [or $45.25 per hour].
