Union OSP Fiber Technician
**About the Role:** Direct Line is a high growth global technology services company with primary focus in providing design, integration, installation, maintenance and managed services to well-known data centers and technology companies. The person should be self-starter, adaptable with attentive to detail and able to work with minimal supervision. This role is 100% travel-based but is expected to primarily support the New Albany, OH market for the foreseeable future. **What You'll Do:** + **Must be willing to travel for extended periods of time depending on project location.** + **Be able to work outside in different types of weather conditions. (Cold, Snow, Rain and heat).** + Experience in the installation of Maxcell, Microproduct, innerduct and fiber optic cable in a Data Center environment. + Experience in fiber splicing and testing. + Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes, always with an eye on improvement. + Provide structured feedback on project progress to Stakeholders. + Exhibit quality workmanship on all work and maintain Data Center cleanliness. + Follow all production, safety and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices. + Collaborate with various Stakeholders to remove project obstacles. + Reading and comprehending blueprints, building documentation/redline work and cable schedules. + Broad understanding of Data Center infrastructure technologies. **What you will need** + Knowledgeand use of basic telecom hand tools. + Mustbe capable of leading a crew of 5-10 technicians. + Mustunderstand customer service, perform job walks and communicate with customerfor job requirements. + Acceptresponsibility for the outcome of work performed by him/her and/or by employeethat directly report to him/her. + Clearunderstanding of job safety requirements. + Beable to read and understand project design documents. + Abilityto install various types of innerduct (EX: Maxcell, 1.25” ID and Microduct) andfiber optic cable. + Capableof maintaining orderly paperwork, capable of running midsize to large projectsand service jobs. + Possessskills to dress all types of cable and perform all types of terminations andshould include basic understanding of fiber equipment, all types of cable andfiber terminations. + Basicunderstanding of both copper and fiber cable testing and troubleshooting. + Track and review timesheetsfor your crew. + Maintainingpaperwork and running service jobs + Effectivelycommunicate with Foreman, Leads, Technicians and Superintendent + Tracklessons learned as they occur + Coordinateswith QAQC on quality status walks + Knowledgeand understanding of Project Close Out + Identifythe strengths and weaknesses of crew members + Mustbe able to driver company vehicles and the ability to pull and back uptrailers. + Must be able to blow fiber optic cables + Mustbe able to driver company vehicles and the ability to pull and back uptrailers. + Must be able to blow fiber optic cables **Why CBRE?** When you join CBRE, you become part of the global leader in commercial realestate services and investment that helps businesses and people thrive. The minimum salary for the Union Data Center Lead Technician position is $38.40 per hour and the maximum salary for the Union Data Center Lead Technician position is $43.20 per hour. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on their skills, qualifications, and experience.
