**About the role**
Uses sophisticated skills to perform preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, equipment, and grounds. This includes specialized knowledge in chiller operation, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting. Working under limited supervision, monitors building system operations and performance, with a focus on optimizing chiller efficiency and ensuring proper refrigerant management.
Applies several trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling, specifically emphasizing the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems, including chillers and associated components.
Aligns with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and Company directives related to building operations and work safety, particularly those governing refrigeration and air conditioning systems to ensure compliance and safety in chiller operation.
**What you’ll do**
+ Inspects building systems including HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by client.
+ Performs assigned repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance. Completes' maintenance and repair records as the need arises.
+ Reviews assigned work orders. Estimates time and materials needed to complete repair. Orders vital materials and supplies to finish the tasks.
+ Maintains an energy management program to ensure measures are taken to operate all systems in the most efficient manner to keep operating costs at a minimum.
+ Responds quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
+ Conducts on-site troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs for various chiller systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry standards.
+ Monitors the operation of chillers and associated HVAC equipment, analyzes performance data, and implements adjustments and upgrades to enhance energy efficiency and reliability.
+ Ensures all chiller operations adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, including refrigerant management and safety protocols, while maintaining a safe working environment.
+ Provides technical support and training to clients and team members on proper chiller operation, maintenance practices, and troubleshooting techniques to foster effective problem-solving.
+ Travel is required up to 70% of the time.
**What you’ll need**
+ High school diploma or GED and a minimum of four years of related experience or trade school training.
+ Universal CFC certification preferred. Additional certification in one or more of the following: electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry or engine repair. Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.
+ Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding.

The pay range for this position is subject to an applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement. The negotiated rate for the Union position is $81.45 per hour. Please refer to the Collective Bargaining Agreement regarding pay scale.
