About the role
As a CBRE Union Engineer, you will be a part of a team responsible for a site’s equipment maintenance and instrument calibration processes.
Performs general preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, equipment, and grounds. Working under close supervision assists in supervising building system operations and performance. Uses several trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling.
This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.
What you’ll do
•Follows all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies, and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.
•Inspects building systems, including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing, to ensure equipment operation is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by the client.
•Oversee and inspect work performed by outside contractors. Contracted work includes landscaping, snow removal, remodeling, HVAC, plumbers, and cleaning.
•Performs assigned repairs and emergency and preventive maintenance. Complete maintenance and repair records as required.
•Reviews assigned work orders. Estimates time and materials needed to complete repair—orders materials and supplies to finish the tasks.
•Maintains an energy management program to ensure measures are taken to operate all systems most efficiently to keep operating costs at a minimum.
•Maintains the building lighting system, including element and ballast repairs or replacements.
•Performs welding, carpentry, furniture assembly, and locksmith tasks as needed.
•Responds quickly to emergencies, summoning additional assistance as needed.

•Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
•High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4+ years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. A current member or willing to join Local Union.
•Must possess or be willing to get a Class 4 NIULPE - National Institute for the Uniform Licensing within 1st year.
•Commercial Chillers or extensive commercial electrical experience.
•General experience in plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
•In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc
•Experience with record retention, change processes procedures, and management.
•Experience with BMS systems and automation (preferably Automated Logic)
•Experience working in a class A office environment with critical systems.
•Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
•Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
•Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
•Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.

The pay range for this position is subject to an applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
The negotiated rate for the Union Engineer position is $107,036 annually or $51.46 per hour.
Please refer to the Collective Bargaining Agreement regarding pay scale.
