Chubb Group of Insurance Company’s is currently seeking an Underwriter to join the Southwest Financial Institutions Team as a Property and Casualty Underwriter. 

Main responsibilities include:

Underwrite and negotiate renewals and new business with a defined set of agents within the Southwest RegionLines of business include commercial package (including product liability and errors and omissions), automobile, umbrella, international and workers compensation for Life Sciences.Achieve favorable rate and retention within given territoryUnderwriting duties will include account rounding and cross selling opportunities.Marketing and servicing accounts based on Chubb guidelinesDevelop strong relationships with independent agents and brokers and oversee counterparts in order to successfully manage our business, which may require travel to producer locationBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience2-3 years of multi-line underwriting experience is preferred.Candidate must have proven ability to successfully negotiate and develop producer relationshipsA strong track record of service orientation is required.Knowledge of marketing principles, underwriting and pricing strategiesSolid background in risk analysisStrong interpersonal and written communication skillsThe ability to work independently and cohesively in a team environment in conjunction with service staff, loss control, field marketing underwriters and branch employeesKnowledge of life science emerging hazards, trends and concepts preferredStrong multi-line underwriting background.Deep analytical skills supported by interpersonal effectiveness in understanding the needs of the customer and matching those needs to Chubb solutions.Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
