UI/UX Designer - Government Systems
You'll help enhance user experience for military logistics software, making complex data easier to understand and use. This is an opportunity to impact military readiness through data visualization and interface design - supporting tools that help prepare units for deployment.
You'll work as part of a design team, collaborating with military staff to create user-centered dashboards that give commanders better visibility into their operations.
What You'll DoDashboard Design
Design and iterate on logistics dashboards for commanders and unit leadersUse historical data and visual cues to highlight performance patterns over timeDesign layered information architecture for multi-level data explorationApply visual design systems using color, typography, and status indicators for at-a-glance comprehensionDesign for AI-augmented decision support, including predictive analytics and adaptive interface patternsCreate filtering and search patterns that support different user mental models and workflowsMap user journeys and design visualizations for deployment and readiness processesUser Research & Feedback
Work with military users to understand how they work and what they needHelp run usability sessions to test designsUse feedback to improve dashboards over timeContribute to our design system and component libraryTeam Collaboration
Partner with data and development teams to understand what's possibleLearn how data flows through the system to inform your design choicesFollow accessibility and government usability standardsHelp make complex data understandable through good designRequired Qualifications1-5 years UI/UX experience (dashboards, data visualization, or analytics tools preferred)Ability to obtain a TS ClearancePortfolio showing dashboard or data-focused design workUnderstanding of heuristics and how to design for information hierarchyAbility to learn technical concepts and translate them into clear interfacesGood communication skills for presenting ideas to stakeholdersWillingness to work in a mission-focused government environmentDesired QualificationsAny experience with military or government customersFamiliarity with design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite)Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or related field (or equivalent experience)Interest in learning about military operations and logisticsWhat We're Looking ForYou're curious about solving problems and making things easier to use. Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
