Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced US Privacy Manager to join our Insights & Intelligence team within the Chief Information and Digital Office. Insights and Intelligence lead the integrated analytics, AI, data and intelligence strategy for the company and our mission is to reimagine decision making by bridging the gaps between organizations and connecting our business strategy to the right insights, analytics, and data.

As a US privacy manager, you will report to the Director of Data Governance & Strategy and lead the US privacy team. This position will be accountable for ensuring compliance with applicable privacy laws, regulations, and internal policies. This role partners closely with a peer International Privacy Manage to ensure consistent interpretation, implementation, and oversight of privacy obligations across the organization. The roles will be closely partnered with our Legal, Cybersecurity, data governance, data engineering, and business stakeholders to embed privacy-by-design principles into business processes, systems and data practices while enabling responsible data use.

The primary location for this position is Falls Church, VA; alternative work locations/arrangements will be considered as well, including working 100% virtual/remote.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Lead the design, execution, and continuous improvement of the enterprise privacy program alongside collaborating with the international privacy manager with a focus on US operations.

Interpret and operationalize privacy regulations (e.g. CCPA/CPRA, and other state laws) into actionable policies, standards, and procedures, with business value in mind.

Serve as a subject matter expert on privacy risk, advising business and technology teams on privacy impacts of new initiatives, systems, and data use.

Oversee privacy impact assessments (PIAs/DPIAs) and ensure mitigation plans are implemented.

Partner with Legal and Information security on incident response, breach notification, and regulatory inquiries.

Define and maintain privacy governance artifacts including policies, training materials, records of processing, and consent management practices.

Support data subject rights processes, including intake, review, and response coordination.

Develop and deliver privacy awareness and training programs across the organization.

Provide practical and actionable privacy guidance to business stakeholders

Monitor regulatory changes and assess impacts to business operations and compliance posture.

Track and report privacy metrics to demonstrate privacy program effectiveness and risk posture to leadership.

Identify critical issues with ease.  Exhibiting confidence and knowledge of privacy best practices with minimal oversight.

Basic Qualifications:

Must have a Bachelor’s degree in law, Business, Information System, Public Policy or related field with 8 years’ experience in privacy, data protection, compliance, or risk management or Master’s degree with 6 years’ relevant experience.

Must have demonstrated expertise in U.S. privacy laws and regulatory frameworks

Must have experience implementing or managing enterprise privacy programs

Must have strong ability to translate legal and regulatory requirements into operation processes

Must have excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Privacy certification CIPP/US, CIPM and/or CIPT

Experience working in highly regulated industry

Experience in Data governance, data classification, and records management programs

Familiarity with global privacy requirements (e.g. GDPR) privacy management tools, risk assessment methodologies, and Relevant Data Protection frameworks.

Primary Level Salary Range: $121,000.00 - $199,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
