Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Tube Mill Operator to join our manufacturing team in Houston, TX. This role is responsible for operating and maintaining tube mill equipment to produce high‑quality welded stainless steel tubing. The ideal candidate has hands‑on tube mill or ERW mill experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to problem‑solve in a fast‑paced production environment. Key Responsibilities  • Set up, operate, and monitor cold‑laser tube mill equipment producing welded stainless steel tubing.  • Perform mill setup, tooling checks, and laser weld alignment.  • Verify materials and packaging against production documentation.  • Conduct first‑piece and in‑process inspections and make adjustments to maintain quality standards.  • Perform weld verification using eddy current testing, acid wash, and microscope inspection.  • Measure tubing using precision tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) and accurately record results in the WIP/production system.  • Generate accurate production, quality, and traceability documentation.  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and communicate effectively with support staff.  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and follow all required PPE and safety guidelines. This position is fully onsite, direct hire, and the hourly range is between $27-$32/hr. Skills and Requirements • 1+ year of tube mill or ERW mill experience.   ○ ERW experience may include stainless steel or tubing; general welding experience is acceptable.  • Strong general mechanical knowledge and comfort working with industrial equipment.  • Solid problem‑solving ability and strong communication skills.  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, technical requirements, and safety procedures.  • Basic math proficiency related to measurements, tolerances, and geometry. High attention to detail with a quality‑ and safety‑focused mindset. • Experience with cold laser welding systems.  • Experience using eddy current inspection equipment.  • Familiarity with acid wash testing and microscope‑based weld evaluation.  • Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.  • TIG welding experience is a plus.  • Strong communicator who can collaborate across teams. Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving production needs.
