**Job Title: Truck / Trailer Mechanic** **Job Description** Join our team as a Truck / Trailer Mechanic, where you will play a critical role in performing preventative maintenance and general repairs on tractors and trailer units. You'll ensure compliance with both company and DOT standards and maintain all rolling equipment such as front-end loaders, forklifts, and skid steers. Additionally, you'll oversee inventory control of truck and trailer parts, process work order paperwork, and maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area. **Responsibilities** + Diagnose and repair medium to heavy-duty trucks and trailers, including air and hydraulic brakes, tires, suspensions, and electrical systems, while prioritizing safety. + Identify and resolve tractor and trailer issues, such as speedometer, power steering, U-joint, and repair trailer components like doors, floors, and side panels. + Perform preventative maintenance on tractor and trailer equipment and complete routine technical repairs. + Conduct general or routine welding tasks, with or without prints. + Maintain positive working relationships with team members and external vendors. + Contribute to the shop's goals and support the leadership team. + Document all work orders in detail and adhere to company policies and safety rules. + Act as a positive role model for team members, providing support and enthusiasm. **Essential Skills** + Technical school certification and/or 1 year of relevant experience in medium to heavy-duty truck repairs. + Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment repairs. + Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication both face-to-face and over the phone. + Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and manage time effectively. + Proficiency in English communication, both verbal and written. + Skills in diesel, trailer repair, welding, brake systems, diesel engines, DOT compliance, and tractor trailers. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Valid CDL and DOT physical card are advantageous. + Self-motivation and the ability to work independently while motivating team efforts. **Why Work Here?** Enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including matching retirement plans, dental, health, and vision insurance, health savings accounts, and paid time off.
