Join Our Team as a Mobile Refuse Mechanic! 🚛🔧 About the Role: We're on the hunt for an experienced Mobile Refuse Mechanic to enhance our dynamic service team! In this exciting position, you'll be the go-to expert for on-site diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance of refuse collection vehicles, including front loaders, rear loaders, side loaders, and roll-off trucks, across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. If you have a passion for heavy-duty truck repairs, hydraulic systems, and electrical troubleshooting, and enjoy working independently in the field, we want you! Key Responsibilities: As a Mobile Refuse Mechanic, your day-to-day will include: + Performing diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on refuse collection vehicles right at customer sites. + Servicing hydraulic systems, electrical systems, compaction equipment, and lifting arms. + Conducting preventive maintenance, including inspections, adjustments, and component replacements. + Operating a service truck equipped with all necessary tools and parts to complete field repairs. + Documenting work performed, parts used, and service recommendations for each job. + Communicating effectively with customers to explain issues, timelines, and solutions. + Ensuring safety standards are upheld at all times while working on heavy equipment. Qualifications: To be a successful candidate, you should have: + 3+ years of experience as a diesel, heavy-duty, or refuse truck mechanic (field/mobile experience preferred). + Strong expertise in hydraulic and electrical systems used in refuse trucks. + Familiarity with McNeilus, Heil, Labrie, or similar refuse bodies is a significant plus. + The ability to diagnose and repair heavy-duty truck systems with minimal supervision. + A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL is a plus). + Strong mechanical aptitude and exceptional problem-solving skills. + The physical capability to lift up to 75 lbs and work outdoors year-round. + Your own tools are required; we’ll provide specialized tools and a service truck.
