We are a premiere tourism operation—and we are a 501c(3) non-profit. It was 1986 when the Schafer family, with Harold ready to retire from business, donated all they had created in Medora to establish the non-profit Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation. In the years since, we have grown from a handful of folks to more than 90 full-time employees, with hundreds more seasonal workers and over 650 volunteers. We have awarded hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of scholarships to our staff. The Medora Musical has earned the attention of The New York Times. We are the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation. Summary We are seeking friendly, responsible individuals to join our team as Trolley Drivers for the summer season. This position operates from June through August and offers an excellent opportunity to work with the public in a dynamic, outdoor setting. As a Trolley Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting passengers along designated routes while delivering outstanding customer service. Operate a trolley vehicle along assigned routes in accordance with TRMF schedules and safety regulations. Interact courteously and professionally with passengers, answering questions and assisting as needed. Ensure the safety of passengers at all times, including assisting with boarding and exiting the trolley. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any issues promptly. Maintain clean and orderly vehicle interior. Follow all traffic laws and TRMF policies. Supervisory Responsibility None. Qualifications Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B or C with Passenger Endorsement. Must be 25 years of age or older. Maintain a clean driving record. Strong focus on vehicle control, passenger safety, and adherence to road rules is essential. Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills. Providing clear communication, answering questions, and ensuring a positive experience for passengers is vital. Must be able to handle diverse situations, varying passenger behavior, and unpredictable traffic conditions. Ability to work outdoors and on a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays. Previous experience in passenger transportation preferred but not required. Requirements Work Environment Most of the day is spent driving and operating the trolley. Drivers are exposed to varying temperatures, noise, and exhaust fumes. The job involves frequent stops, and designated pick-up/drop-off points. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, repetitive use of hands, visual acuity to determine safety of workplace and surroundings for themselves and guests. Safe use of equipment and outdoor work while driving a vehicle with many people inside. Frequently required: grasping, lifting up to 10 pounds, carrying up to 10 pounds, crouching, stooping, and kneeling. Occasionally required: lifting up to 25 pounds, carrying up to 25 pounds.
