Treaty Reinsurance Broker, LAC
We will count on you to:
Design new reinsurance programs for clients' needs, placing business with client approved reinsurers. Manage all aspects of new, renewal and prospective reinsurance business including soliciting accounts; preparing and presenting research, financial analysis, client and reinsurer presentations, budget and revenue exhibits; formal documentation execution; and managing accounting, claims, and contract issues. Respond to client queries and concerns, resolving issues promptly. Establish and maintain strong relationships with reinsurers, clients, colleagues, and insurance brokerage company. Develop and present new, renewal, and prospective presentations to clients and reinsurers. Produce new clients and design programs for them. Oversee the timely production of appropriate account and program documents. Monitor follow-up on contract documentation, ensuring the timely flow of materials. Liaise with Guy Carpenter service departments to ensure the proper level of client service and timely flow of business process. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of reinsurer capabilities (product lines, capacity, approvals, etc.), with the help of Market Information Department, Legal Department, and other departments as necessary.
What you need to have:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Finance, Political Science, or a related field plus six (6) years of experience in the position offered or a related position. Must have four (4) years of experience with all of the following: Advising insurance companies in Latin America and the Caribbean on reinsurance placement strategies; Preparing communications including presentations, analytics synopses, and negotiations for clients, reinsurance underwriters, and colleagues; Developing and placing reinsurance programs, preparing placement slips and cover notes, and drafting or amending new and existing contracts; Negotiating Latin America and Caribbean reinsurance agreements and contracts with reinsurers in London, Europe, Bermuda, USA, Asia, and Latin America, to secure the best reinsurance terms and conditions for the client; Coordinating internal resources across catastrophe modeling, actuarial and broker support to effectively manage the reinsurance placement process and to address client needs; Reviewing and analyzing client insurance data and/or analytics to prepare year-on-year analysis of portfolio development; Using year-on-year analysis to structure reinsurance programs suitable for the needs and risks faced by clients in Latin America and the Caribbean; Reviewing contract wordings to ensure that the optimal terms and conditions are being delivered to the client, as well as reviewing counter-proposals from reinsurers; Analyzing catastrophe and actuarial modeling outputs and results, and presenting them to clients and reinsurers during reinsurance negotiations; Placing specialty lines of business in addition to Property & Casualty, including Marine, Aviation, and Surety reinsurance treaties. 10% international travel is required to various and unanticipated company and client sites.
