Treasury Liquidity - Associate

As a Senior Associate in our Corporate & Investment Bank Treasury (CIBT) Balance Sheet and Liquidity Analytics Group, you will spend each day defining, refining, and delivering on key objectives for our firm. You will play a critical role in managing liquidity, balance sheet, and capital positions for the investment banking businesses, and contribute to the development of transparent, market-based funds transfer pricing policies.

You will partner across the organization to develop methodologies and metrics that enhance leverage, capital, collateral, and liquidity risk management capabilities. You will interact closely with Global Treasury, supporting stress assumption development, resolution plan submissions, and producing liquidity risk metrics and analysis. Your responsibilities will include managing CIB balance sheet and leverage ratios, consolidating management and regulatory reporting, and supporting a broad array of initiatives.

In this fast-paced and dynamic environment, you will take ownership of projects, proactively drive them forward, and work on multiple complex initiatives simultaneously. Your keen interest in capital markets and economics, along with strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, will be essential to your success in this role.

 

Job responsibilities 

Oversee and assist in the production of daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly liquidity risk reports (LCR/STWF) and balance sheet reporting.Analyze key drivers of period-over-period movements and provide detailed variance commentary.Oversee and assist in the production of weekly, monthly, and quarterly liquidity metrics packages for CIB senior management and key stakeholders.Utilize knowledge of financial products such as deposits, commitments, derivatives, and secured funding; apply a deep understanding of BASEL III regulatory guidelines and main measurements (LCR, NSFR) to assess their impact on the CIB.Coordinate globally to develop specific CIB sub-line of business commentary and analysis for individual reporting results.Collaborate with FALMA, CTMO, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate regulatory reporting.Interact and partner with senior CIB Treasury and business leadership, Controllers, Global Treasury, Liquidity Risk Oversight, and other related areas to analyze balance sheet and liquidity implications for the CIB.Work independently and collaboratively to establish close partnerships with key CIBT stakeholders.Participate in ad-hoc projects as required by senior management or regulatory initiatives.Stay up-to-date on regulatory developments related to liquidity impacting CIB Treasury.Contribute to ongoing process improvements, optimization, and rationalization efforts related to balance sheet and liquidity.Team leader related activities:Overview more closely cross training, task completions and back up planning, manage QE/ME/Daily calendarTry to reshuffle responsibilities/prioritize in times of over capacityManage disagreements within the teamEnsure coverage/holiday planningProactively contribute to growth of team members, especially the junior ones      

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

CA/MBA degree required, minimum 7 years of working experience in Finance with emphasis in analytical workStrong analytical, creative thinking and problem solving skills. Comfortable in managing large amounts of data and identifying takeawaysGood understanding of finance and financial markets and on and off balance sheet products especially for products related to market business (e.g., prime brokerage, secured funding, etc.)Knowledge of liquidity risk regulations and implication associated with products preferred, but not requiredStrong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills. Ability to present information in a clear, concise and effective mannerOrganized and able to execute responsibilities with limited supervision and taking ownership of tasks at handSolid work ethic, good business sense, and demonstrated initiativeAbility to work under pressure, prioritize multiple tasks and bring them to completionStrong computer skills, particularly in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and AccessTeam leader/people management experience
