Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Superintendent to lead and manage construction site activities for a prestigious four-year pharmaceutical project valued at $500 million, located in Zeeland, MI. This role involves overseeing specific trades, managing field operations, and ensuring subcontractor and vendor work is safely completed in compliance with contract documents and project schedules. The role offers a competitive per diem, with opportunities for home rotations and overtime pay.

Responsibilities

Assume primary responsibility for activities associated with specific trades on assigned construction sites.Lead assigned vendors and subcontractors to meet project goals.Ensure achievement of safety objectives on assigned projects.Ensure projects meet applicable quality requirements.Interact with clients at site and promote positive relationships.Support Project Director, Project Manager, Construction Manager, and Senior Superintendent in developing and maintaining execution plans and schedules.Develop a working knowledge of the project budget for assigned trades and identify exceptions.Support the development of change control and financial documentation.Oversee the work of assigned vendors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with quality requirements.Participate in constructability reviews of design documents.Manage subcontractor and vendor field T&M change requests.Facilitate communication between subcontractors, vendors, and project personnel.Conduct periodic site inspections and report findings.Produce daily reports of site conditions, including weather and safety issues.Ensure compliance of project activities with legal and regulatory requirements.Oversee startup and commissioning activities of assigned trades if included in the project scope.Support construction document control processes.

Essential Skills

10+ years as a superintendent on large projects and project delivery.Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.Proficiency in construction management, RFI, instrumentation, Procore, industrial commissioning, GMP, and pharmaceutical manufacturing.Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with teams and clients.Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic and the ability to manage document control tasks.Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with manufacturing/industrial projects, particularly GMP on $20 million+ projects, is preferred.Experience with large project delivery is advantageous.Ability to build and sustain long-term relationships through teamwork.Entrepreneurial spirit with a drive for excellence and innovation.Professionalism and good communication skills are essential.

The position offers a competitive per diem with opportunities for home rotations and overtime pay. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $57.00 - $72.00/hr.
