Traveling Heavy Equipment Operator
**Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator** **Job Description** We are seeking an experienced Excavator Operator with at least five years of experience in underground utility work. The ideal candidate will have experience in digging 16-18 feet deep and shooting grade, along with the ability to install, repair, and map underground systems for utilities such as gas, water, sewage, communications, and power lines. A strong work ethic and effective communication skills with on-site workers are essential. Candidates must be open to travel in the southeast with hotel provided and per diem. **Responsibilities** + Operate heavy equipment, including excavators, track hoes, trenchers, dozers, backhoes, GPS systems, front-end loaders, and other machinery. + Perform excavation tasks, including digging 16-18 feet deep and shooting grade. + Install, repair, and map underground utilities for gas, water, sewage, communications, and power lines. + Ensure grading and pipe laying are completed efficiently and accurately. + Communicate effectively with other on-site workers to ensure smooth operations. + Travel to various sites as required for project completion. **Essential Skills** + Excavator operation + Heavy equipment operation + Experience with underground utilities + Sewer system and wastewater management + Grading and pipe laying + Civil site work **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with earthworks and utility construction + Proficiency in operating GPS systems + Ability to use front-end loaders and other heavy machinery + Knowledge of trenching and excavation techniques **Why Work Here?** Enjoy a generous benefits package that includes paid time off during the entire week of Christmas, nine PTO days, and seven paid holidays annually.
