TRAVEL CNC Mechanic

Job Title: TRAVEL CNC Maintenance

Location: Lafayette, Indiana - must be willing to travel

$45hr and $150/day in per diem paid all 7 days

Position Overview

A leading manufacturer in Lafayette, IN is seeking experienced Automation Machine Tool Electricians to support CNC and PLC-controlled equipment in a high-volume industrial machine shop. This role is ideal for candidates with strong electrical troubleshooting skills and hands-on experience with complex automation systems. 2nd and 3rd shifts available, as well as weekend shifts for those seeking a non-traditional schedule.

Key Responsibilities Diagnose and repair CNC, PLC, and relay logic-controlled machine toolsService equipment including Okuma, G&L, Mazak, Lamb, Landis grinders, Waldrich Coburg, Ingersoll, Toyoda, and DMG MoriMaintain and repair related shop equipment: cranes, conveyors, furnaces, washers, ABB robotsWork with controllers such as Fanuc, Siemens, Allen Bradley, Modicon, IndramatTroubleshoot AC/DC analog and digital drivesInterpret machine tool schematics and feedback systems (Heidenhain, inductosyn, encoders)Operate basic mechanical tools and perform hands-on repairsCollaborate with team members to support production demands and meet deadlinesQualifications

Required:

Minimum 3 years’ experience in electrical repair of machine tools and industrial equipmentProficiency with CNC/PLC systems and relay logic troubleshootingFamiliarity with industrial controllers and drive systemsAbility to read and interpret schematics and machine printsBasic mechanical aptitude and tool operationWillingness to work overtime and adapt to production needsMust pass color blindness test and be able to work at heights and in confined spaces

Preferred:

Certified electricianAssociate Degree in Industrial AutomationPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 40 lbs and perform repetitive hand movementsFrequent bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, and standing on concrete for 8+ hoursComfortable working in fast-paced, medium to heavy-duty environmentsShift Details2nd shift= 3:30-11:30pm Monday - Friday 3rd shift = 11:30pm - 7:30am Monday - Friday 

Weekend Shift Options:

Thursday–Monday, 6:00 AM – 4:00 PMThursday–Monday, 6:00 PM – 4:00 AM

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $45.00/hr.
