About the Job
The Transportation Operations Analyst is responsible for analysis with a goal of driving performance improvements/efficiencies, cost savings and supporting run the business activities for the Supply Chain. The associate functions as a subject matter expert concerning complex analysis and reporting, making recommendations to leadership and key partners across the company. Based on assignment, this position will act as a key contact for internal and external partners. The incumbent is expected to challenge conventional thinking and explore varying perspectives with key stakeholders to include, but not limited to, understanding needs for data, analysis and regular reporting for the business. This job partners with other departments and peers across the organization to identify and build capabilities through cross-functional teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
Generate, analyze, measure, audit, and interpret reports on key metrics related to performance, compliance, and/or budget for the business. Provide insights into supply chain efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and overall performance.Analyze truckload utilization using cube, weight, pallet, and stop density metrics to identify inefficiencies and identify root causes of underutilized loads to recommend corrective actions across planning and operations.Drive on-time delivery performance to stores by monitoring service KPIs, identifying root causes of delays, and partnering with carriers, DCs, and store operations to resolve issues and improve delivery reliabilityServe as the primary point of contact for assigned distribution centers, owning the end-to-end relationship and partnering closely with DC leadership to align transportation execution, resolve issues, and support operational goalsResearch gaps and identify opportunities to manage cost & achieve efficiencies with stakeholders. Make recommendations to leadership and cross functional partners. Maintains best practices to develop data standards and practices.Develop and maintain dashboards and visualizations to communicate complex data in a clear and actionable manner.Create ad-hoc reporting and perform complex analysis to support business needs. Identify opportunities, recommend strategy and implement system changes or business process improvements to improve operations and KPIs.Act as a liaison between different departments to facilitate communication and streamline processes that impact the overall supply chain.Build relationships with internal and external partners to identify operational opportunities, cost impacts, and service enhancements across the business. Actively communicates with partners to identify and build capabilities through cross-functional teams.Able to effectively lead and manage through change among peers and cross functional partners. Ability to influence others and foster an environment that encourages trying new things and improving processes.Support success of projects through analysis. Assess risks, manages timelines, identifies deliverables and any required resources. Consults to provide recommendations to improve organizational performance.Able to identify and solve process improvement opportunities to increase team efficiencies and speed to resolution for our stores, DC and carrier partners.Focused on driving automation creation and adoption among peers and partners.Drives operational excellence and can manage the needs of run the business operations vs strategy led and project work deliverables.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Requires the ability to conceptualize, document, and communicate solutions to better align with business strategy and meet objectives. Requires effective analytical and problem solving (critical and evaluative thinking) skills to analyze complex data for trends and translate into actionable business recommendations. Candidate must have demonstrated leadership and human relations skills to build positive relationships with peers, leadership and business partners. Listens attentively and responds in a sensitive and appropriate manner, treating all with respect and dignity. Requires demonstrated ability to lead project or cross-functional teams to resolve, implement or reach consensus on issues. Requires written and verbal communication skills to effectively present information to all levels of leadership. Requires demonstrated facilitation skills. Must be able to work in fast paced environment where priorities can change quickly.
Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt), and Project Management are highly preferred.
Participate in an on-call rotation, providing weekend and holiday support as needed to ensure continuity of transportation and distribution operations during peak periods. Typically one weekend a month.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.Advanced knowledge and proficiency with other business systems such as Uber Freight TMS, WMS, MicroStrategy, Tableau, etc.Solid data analysis and modeling skills.Knowledge of project management tools and techniques preferred.Additional Job Considerations
