Transplant Financial Coordinator
**Job Summary and Responsibilities** As our Transplant Financial Counselor, you will be an essential member of the transplant team, coordinating financial resources for Transplant and/or VAD patients. Your role ensures financial readiness and continuity of care for patients and their families. Every day you will work with patients/families to coordinate financial resources from evaluation through post-transplant care. You'll answer insurance questions, provide multidisciplinary recommendations on financial candidacy, and adhere to departmental policies for charges and Medicare Cost Report. You will establish financial expectations for patients/guarantors, ensuring accurate information for efficient account processing. To be successful, you will demonstrate strong financial counseling expertise, exceptional communication, and meticulous attention to detail regarding insurance and cost reporting. A deep understanding of transplant financial requirements, collaborative teamwork, and a compassionate approach to patient support are essential. + As a member of the Transplant Team acts as the primary point person to screen patients for transplant eligibility by thorough review and verification of medical and pharmacy benefits + Verifies medical coverage, pharmacy benefit coverage + Conducts extensive review of the patients ability to cover transplant expenses that may possibly fall outside of insurance coverage such as + Outpatient prescription drug coverage, organ acquisition, post transplant clinic visits, travel and housing during the transplant period + Consults with patients and families to assess and clarifies support systems and provide information on specific financial responsibilities required for all aspects of care for lung transplant from evaluation through post transplant + Maintain a detailed database/information of transplant patients **Job Requirements** **MINIMUM** + High School Graduate or GED + Two years of related experience + Strong computer skills **PREFERRED** + Associates degree + Five years of related experience **Where You'll Work** Hello humankindness Located conveniently in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona,St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center is a 571-bed, not-for-profit hospital that provides a wide range of health, social and support services.
