THE WORK
The Transmission Test Technician ensures helicopter components meet required performance and safety standards. Working within a small team, you will support test operations that affect our customers and overall mission success.
In this role you will:
• Perform a variety of test operations to “run‑in” production, overhauled, or engineering‑test transmissions, gearboxes, mechanisms, or systems, following engineering instructions.
• Set up and install gearboxes, transmissions, and other components on test stands, and operate them through a brake‑in period.
• Periodically check assemblies being tested using written or verbal instructions, drawings, or specifications, and operate controls as directed.
• Set, adjust, and use a wide variety of gauges, switches, and controls to perform required tests.
• Observe and monitor instruments and controls during test runs, maintaining logs, charts, and records of each test and pertinent data.
• Inspect tested items for leaks, gear patterns, and compliance with ATP requirements.
• Install and remove components in test equipment, using hand tools and torque wrenches safely.
• Test items according to established guidelines and record data accurately.
• Collect and organize test data for review and reporting.
• Inspect tested items against specifications and documentation.
• Prepare test reports and communicate results to customers in a clear manner.

Basic Qualifications:
• Experience: 3+ years of working in a mechanical or automotive or related field
• Skills: Strong use of common hand tools, torque wrenches, communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
• Knowledge: Basic computer skills, and ability to work in with a small group.
• Education: High School Diploma
• Requirement: This is a safety-sensitive job covered by the U.S. DOT’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations require that you participate in a drug testing program for the following drugs: Marijuana - Opioids - Cocaine - Amphetamines - Phencyclidine or a metabolite of these drugs.
Desired Skills:
• Willing to work in a small group. Must be willing to fit into tight spaces.

Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
