Training Specialist – Simulation Center

Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Training Specialist – Simulation Center.

In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for the daily operation and overall coordination, utilization, and maintenance of the Simulation Center’s high and low fidelity Simulation equipment. Assists faculty by ensuring the efficient and smooth operation of the high and low fidelity equipment as well as the audio-visual equipment. Schedules courses utilizing the learning management system and ensures that the training rooms are set-up prior to courses and cleaned up and stocked after courses. Acts as a resource to course faculty. Leads courses focused on technical aspects of the simulation equipment. as needed. Controls and programs the simulation scenarios as required. Teaches American Heart Association (AHA) courses, as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for the daily operation and overall coordination, utilization, and maintenance of all Simulation Center equipment. Guarantees that supplies are ordered and arrive in time for use in planned courses and stocks supplies. Assists in identifying equipment for future purchase to meet programmatic needs. Performs other duties as assigned Schedules courses from the Simulation Center s catalog of approved courses as requested by department faculty, nurse educators, and other teaching staff. Teaches American Heart Association (AHA) classes, as needed. Assist s with developing policies and procedures related to the center s operations. Identifies areas of improvement in workflow and makes recommendations for change. Assists with learner registration and course paperwork. Ensures courses are scheduled in an efficient and timely manner using the Center s online learning software application and communicates schedules to learners and faculty leaders. Resolves scheduling issues and prioritizes requests. Assist s with the setup and breakdown of simulation center training rooms for all training classes in advance of faculty and learner arrival for courses. Communicates with simulation staff to ensure room setup is completed for each scheduled course. Ensures all Simulation and audio visual equipment is setup and operational. Moulage manikins and environment to add realism to the simulation scenarios. Teaches Simulation Center courses directly related to the care being provided by clinical staff to patients, as assigned. Acts in conjunction with the simulation center team in the planning, development and assessment of training scenarios. Conduct training scenario needs assessments with staff and faculty and reviews assessment data and other types of reports using Learning Space software application. Assists with developing technical courses for internal faculty.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. One to two years as a trainer, instructor, or coordinator in a training center, simulation center, or other similar facility. Excellent communication (both oral and written) skills. Proficiency in MS Office especially Word and Excel. Working knowledge of computer systems including, but not limited to, audio-visual recording equipment, learning management systems, and online survey instruments.

Preferred Qualifications:
American Heart Association Instructor Certification (BLS) and/or American Heart Association Instructor Certification (ACLS or PALS). 1 – 2 years Working with Simulation equipment. CHSOS Certification within 2 years.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58,500.00 – $84,529.45 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
