Gaylord is located in south central Minnesota about an hour west of the Twin Cities and 35 minutes from Mankato, Hutchinson, and New Ulm. As the County Seat, Gaylord is the "Hub of Sibley County." Our location produces liquid egg, hardcook egg, and precooked egg such as scrambled, patties and omelets. **Responsibilities** **JOB SUMMARY** **:** The purpose of this position is to two fold; be the training administrator and keep documentation of training programs delivered in MFI facilities while collaborating with production management, human resources and safety to continuously improve on-site learning and development for production hourly employees, ensuring compliance; and to support Supervisors in the developing of the skills and competencies of their teams through on-the-job training, skills evaluation and development programs. This position will assist with the coordination and documentation of training programs delivered in MFI facilities while collaborating with production management, human resources and safety to continuously improve on-site learning and development for production hourly employees. This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability. **JOB RESPONSIBILITIES** **:** + Provide direction, development, and oversight to production on-the-job trainers across all designated departments. + Responsible for input and accuracy of Safety Programs training matrix of all employees within MFI’s plant. + Lead Safety Programs Lock out Tag out training program and compliance of records. + Lead and serve other Safety Program directives as assigned. + Document, analyze, and act on captured training information data to create talent development plans. + Coordinate and facilitate onboarding enrichment programs to help assimilate new hires into positive work environments. + Coordinate external training resources for leadership and professional development into the plant. + Provide on-the-job training to new, entry-level, and transferred employees in the operation of equipment and processes, Standard Work Instructions and work practices and systems. + Coordinate with Human Resources department to ensure a consistent implementation of the new hire onboarding process. + Support Supervisors on the Employee Training Qualification Program for Operations employees. This includes skills and competency assessments, training, and validation of trainees with respect to their performance against established training objectives and recommendation of additional skill requirements as needed. + Assist each Production Supervisor in: + Carrying out skills assessments. + Audit skill assessments to ensure accuracy. + Identifying training needs and multi-skilling opportunities. + Developing on-the-job-training training matrixes and programs to meet the training and development needs. + Provide oversight of skill increase requirements and job skill performance evaluations. + Leading training and development initiatives through sourcing training materials, on-the-job-training and maintaining training records. + Develop Standard Work Instructions, checklists, and visual aids. Source training materials from vendors and other plants compiling a training databank and library. + Maintain files of training materials and organized log(s) of all training conducted including benchmark strengths, new employee onboarding, and day to day training requirements. + Periodic attendance of training seminars some which will require out of town or overnight arrangements. + Provide guidance and support for special projects as requested. + Perform all training in full compliance with all company, state and/or federal safety and environmental regulations. + Notify designated personnel of any irregularities in materials, process, or equipment. + Be willing to have a schedule flexibility as the need to work on any shift may be needed to meet operational teams’ training needs. + Accountable for a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks. + Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety. + Adhere to all safety policies and procedures. + Perform other duties as assigned. **Qualifications** **JOB QUALIFICATIONS** **:** **EDUCATION:** High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent. **EXPERIENCE** : Extensive work experience and knowledge of all equipment in the area of support including best operating practices, principles of operation, operational parameters, fault finding and corrective action on equipment and systems. **COMMUNICATION SKILLS:** In order to promote a manufacturing environment that is safe and efficient for both personnel and food, the ability to effectively communicate in basic English (both verbal and written) is required. This includes the ability to speak, read and comprehend safety instructions, rules and warnings for self and others in both normal and emergency situations. **LANGUAGE SKILLS:** Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and in group situations. Ability to respond to questions from internal/external customers/vendors at all levels including management. **MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:** Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. **REASONING ABILITY:** Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
