NaphCare is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) Trainer and Coordinator to join our team of medical professionals in San Diego, CA, where we manage all aspects of healthcare for the individuals who are currently incarcerated in the San Diego County Jails.  Payrate for this position ranges from $49 - $54/hour.

 

As a Correctional Registered Nurse (RN) Trainer and Coordinator, you will work alongside correctional staff and other medical professionals to ensure quality care is provided to the individuals in residence and nursing care is performed in compliance to standards and adherence to regulations. This is a unique position where you can make a difference to this diverse population of patients with complex medical needs.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) Trainer and Coordinator combines clinical expertise with educational leadership, requiring strong communication, organizational, and teaching abilities. Duties and responsibilities may include and are not limited to:

Creating and delivering educational materials, including lesson plans, presentations, and hands-on training, to meet specific learning needsIdentifying knowledge gaps and skill deficits among nursing staff to tailor training programs effectivelyOrganizing training sessions, managing logistics, and facilitating learning through various methods (classroom, online, on-the-job).Assessing the impact of training programs on staff performance and patient outcomes, using evaluation tools and metricsWorking with other healthcare professionals, including nurse managers, educators, and clinical leaders, to develop and implement training initiativesEnsuring that training programs meet regulatory requirements and standards for nursing practiceProviding guidance and support to new nurses and preceptors, fostering professional development and a positive learning environmentMaintaining accurate records of training participation, completion, and outcome Qualifications

Experience / Requirements / Qualifications

Holds a current, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse within the CAPossess an active CPR certification Significant experience as an RN, preferably in a relevant clinical areaExcellent communication skills with proven experience training medical staffExperience with various software and online platforms for training delivery and documentation and ability to effectively communicate information both verbally and in writing, with strong presentation skillsAbility to plan, organize, and manage multiple training activities simultaneouslyAbility to build rapport with nursing staff, foster a positive learning environment, and provide constructive feedback Ability to identify and address training-related challenges and adapt training programs as needed Ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential informationIntegrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirementsMust pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening

 

Physical Capabilities:

Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
