Job Title: Trailer Mechanic | $20-$28/HR

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Trailer Mechanic for a 1st shift position from 7 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, in Rootstown, OH. This role offers a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to work within a reputable company.

Responsibilities

Perform routine inspections and troubleshooting on trailers to ensure compliance with safety and DOT regulations.Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and structural issues such as brake problems, suspension wear, or lighting malfunctions.Execute repairs on truck trailers, focusing on braking and air systems, suspension systems, axles and wheel bearings, lights and wiring.Assist with loading trucks and occasionally operate a forklift.Utilize welding skills to fix structural breaks when necessary.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in brake troubleshooting and mechanical repair, ideally from a manufacturing or automotive background.Experience with basic automotive repairs such as engine work, tires, and oil changes.Competency in using hand and power tools.Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Prior work experience in a shop is required; road service experience is preferred.Welding experience is beneficial.Familiarity with hydraulics and/or pneumatics.Experience as a trailer mechanic is advantageous.

Work Environment

Work at a small corporate maintenance facility with eight other mechanics on site. The environment can vary with seasonal temperature changes. Enjoy two 15-minute breaks and a half-hour lunch. The facility supports industries like data centers and nuclear companies by providing trucks and trailers.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
