**Job Description** **Harborview (HMC) Parking/Commuter Services** has an outstanding opportunity for a full time variable shift **TRAFFIC GUIDE** **WORK SCHEDULE** 100% FTE Alternate Shifts **DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION** Harborview (HMC) Parking/Commuter Services is a division of the Department of Public Safety. We are a team of dedicated employees serving the guests of the HMC. **POSITION HIGHLIGHTS** The Traffic Guide will troubleshoot and fix minor parking equipment issues, conduct preventative maintenance, enforce parking regulations in HMC campus parking areas, provide safety transports of staff to parking facilities, identify opportunities to improve signage, conduct capacity checks, and make observations about activity in the garage. **PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBLIITIES** -Using department vehicle, provide safety escorts to staff to and from locations on campus to the HMC parking garages and offsite clinics operated by HMC. -Conduct safety patrols in the parking garages and report suspicious activity to the Public Safety dispatcher for security to follow up. -Ensure parking garages doors and gates are secure outside of business hours. -Enforce parking permit and payment requirements for staff and visitors. -Troubleshoot permit and payment issues at the parking gates. -Troubleshoot and resolve minor parking equipment issues. -Respond to requests to resolve parking gate malfunctions. -Occasional cleaning of parking facilities. -Patrol assigned campus parking areas on radio equipped vehicles; observe parking and traffic patterns; issue electronically generated and manual warnings for parking violations. -Identify and report inadequate signage. -Direct traffic for scheduled activities and in the event of a traffic accident, campus construction, or other traffic disruptions. **REQUIREMENTS** High school graduation or equivalent One year experience in a customer service environment or working in contact with the public OR Equivalent experience will be considered expect where legally required. **Compensation, Benefits and Position Details** **Pay Range Minimum:** $44,256.00 annual **Pay Range Maximum:** $52,104.00 annual **Other Compensation:** - **Benefits:** For information about benefits for this position, visit https://www.washington.edu/jobs/benefits-for-uw-staff/ **Shift:** Alternate Work Shift (United States of America) **Temporary or Regular?** This is a regular position **FTE (Full-Time Equivalent):** 100.00% **Union/Bargaining Unit:** SEIU Local 925 Nonsupervisory **About the UW** Working at the University of Washington provides a unique opportunity to change lives – on our campuses, in our state and around the world.
