The Traffic Engineering Co-op will work with a dynamic team of traffic engineering / transportation planning professionals on a variety of projects including municipal traffic signal coordination, transit operation studies, traffic modelling, traffic impact studies, road safety analysis, and highway planning studies.

Job responsibilities

Job responsibilities will vary depending on the strengths of the potential candidate and opportunities available but will generally include:

Traffic Operations AnalysisField Surveys / ObservationsTraffic Impact / Development StudiesSignal Optimization / Traffic Signal CoordinationTransit Operation StudiesMicrosimulation (Vissim/Aimsun)Safety / Collision AnalysisData Processing and AnalyticsGraphic / Mapping


Required Skills:

Technical writing skills

Knowledge of traffic / transportation analysis tools would be an asset: such as Synchro, Vissim, Aimsun, EMME, Legion, and ArcGIS.

Knowledge in data analytic tools would be an asset: Python, SQL, Microsoft Azure, AWS

Required Qualifications
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program Attention to detailPossess strong problem-solving and communication skills Basic Microsoft Office skills An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.) The hourly pay range for Ontario: $21.00 - $31.00.
