Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking a **Trade Surveillance Consultant** to join their team in New York or Charlotte, NC (Hybrid)
As a **Trade Surveillance Consultant** , you will be part of a compliance team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive mindset which will align successfully in the organization.

**Location: New York, New York - 3 days onsite**
**Pay Range: $70/hour, w2**
**What's the Job?**
This is a high-visibility role supporting the CIB Control Management as a **Trade Surveillance Consultant** . Partner with team in identifying and **mitigating market abuse risks** across a range of financial products. You’ll work closely with industry experts and senior stakeholders to review, refine, and build surveillance capabilities. The environment is collaborative, analytical, and deeply focused on global market conduct. You’ll be on the front lines of market conduct and risk mitigation. You will gain a ton of exposure by collaborating directly with leaders across compliance, tech, and trading. You will work on both manual and system-based surveillance dev solutions. Finally, your input will help shape a key surveillance framework across global markets
**Core Experience needed:**
+ Minimum 5 years of hands-on Trade Surveillance experience specifically focused on Market Abuse Risks
+ Strong understanding of market manipulation behaviors, including:
+ Spoofing
+ Layering
+ Ramping
+ Front-running
+ Wash trades, etc.
+ Exposure to multiple asset classes, especially:
+ Fixed IncomeOTC fixed income instruments, RFQs, or dealer-to-dealer workflows exposure to rates, credit, and structured products
+ Foreign Exchange (FX)/Currencies
+ Commodities
+ Equities
**Ideal Background**
+ **Prior experience in:**
+ Trading desks, or product control, compliance or trade surveillance
+ Reviewing, investigating, and escalating trade surveillance alerts
+ Setting and refining alert thresholds, inclusion/exclusion logic
+ Helping design or enhance manual or automated controls
**While not required, familiarity with the following tools is a plus:**
+ Surveillance Platforms: Actimize, OneTick, TradingHub, Protegent
+ Market Data & Trade Systems: Bloomberg, Reuters, Calypso
+ Advanced Excel skills: Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, etc.
**Depending on your expertise, your responsibilities may include:**
+ Performing manual reviews of trading activity for potential abuse
+ Assisting in building new surveillance logic and controls
+ Supporting the automation of surveillance processes
+ Developing reports for working groups and management
