Description We are looking for a highly organized and solutions-driven Trade Compliance Manager to build and lead our import compliance function. This role will play a key part in ensuring adherence to U.S. customs requirements, trade regulations, and internal controls while supporting operational efficiency. The right candidate brings hands-on compliance experience and enjoys creating structure, processes, and programs from the ground up. What You’ll Do Build & Lead the Compliance Program + Develop and roll out a company-wide import compliance framework aligned with business operations + Create, update, and maintain policies, procedures, and internal controls related to trade compliance Ensure Regulatory Accuracy + Oversee proper tariff classification, valuation, and country-of-origin determinations + Stay current on regulatory changes and advise internal teams on potential business impact Manage Import Documentation + Review and maintain import records including invoices, packing lists, and customs filings + Ensure documentation retention meets regulatory requirements Training & Cross-Functional Support + Design and deliver compliance training for procurement, logistics, finance, and related teams + Act as a resource across departments, reinforcing best practices and compliance awareness Audit, Risk & Continuous Improvement + Perform internal reviews to identify exposure areas and implement corrective actions + Drive ongoing improvements to reduce risk and strengthen controls External Partner Management + Oversee relationships with customs brokers and freight partners + Hold third parties accountable to internal compliance standards Reporting & Leadership Communication + Prepare compliance updates, metrics, and risk assessments for senior leadership + Serve as the main point of contact for customs inquiries and audits Requirements What We’re Looking For + Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Legal Studies, or a related discipline + Minimum 3 years of experience in import compliance, customs operations, or global trade + Working knowledge of U.S. import regulations, tariff classification, valuation, and origin rules + Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities + Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication abilities + Comfortable using Microsoft Office and trade compliance systems Nice to Have + Customs Broker license (preferred, not required) + Background in regulated industries + Exposure to government trade programs and electronic filing platforms + Familiarity with international trade requirements Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
